Finally we have a much needed fresh take on the whole superhero/origin story. Unlike the flood of recent super hero films this one focuses on and fleshes out our main character and his heartwarming story. Hiro has a lot to learn about himself and how to deal with the emotions he's facing. Baymax, his health care companion is a wonderful "sidekick" who is truly always looking out for his friend and is quite humorous in is his own dead-pan way. The outline of the plot admittedly is similar to others in the genre but the way the characters go about the inevitable outcome is very different. I can't remember the last time a movie made me question the tactics and means that our protagonist uses to defeat the bad guy. In Big Hero 6 revenge is frowned upon, so our hero's find a much better solution. Can you remember the last time when an action movie decided it was better to help the villain then destroy him? Or movie that helped you to see that revenge is not worth it? Don't worry there are plenty of exciting scenes and gorgeous sites to take in, the animation is top notch. All the characters are likeable and well-thought out. This is one of the best animated films ever and certainly a great family film for all ages.
