Even though I'm rating this after having watched X-Men: First Class, Thor was disappointing to me. I get that you can't do much with an arrogant character but so is Iron Man, and that movie was better than this one. I found the special FX poorly done, didn't really enjoy Chris Hemsworth's performance, except the fact that he was a good eye candy. Tom Hiddleston, on the other side, was brilliant as a conniving, sly and insecure brother. He managed to arouse feelings as conflicted as his in the viewer. When you know the range of Natalie Portman's acting skills, it's a little sad to see her wasting some of it in this movie (It doesn't even matter if she accepted the role because Kenneth Branagh was the director)
