If the movie were less than 100 minutes, it would be too short to develop some details of what happen during that particular period, of why those students wanted to assassinate the intelligent chief, and of why at last they failed after several unsuccessful attempts. Many Hollywood films are even longer than this one such as The Lord of the Ring, Titanic, Pearl Harbour, and the Patriot, to name a few. Why don’t they say they are too long? I think it is because they viewed the movie in either English or French version and have not completely understood it, and because they do not even understand the Chinese history and culture…
