Ultra-gritty, ultra-violent cop drama about troubled drug detectives working the ultra-grimy streets of Hockey Town USA, otherwise known as Detroit Michigan. Never before have I seen a person walk out of a picture in the first minute of the show but it happened with this one... obviously a film that is not for everyone. The most amusing moment was when another audience member let go with the loudest hiccup I have ever heard... an odd evening at the movies to be sure. This film reminded me of the cop movies of the early seventies but everything in Narc is ten times more intense including the f-bombs. If the film had been toned down a little, well actually quite a lot, this picture might have got a much wider audience. I guess the producers - which included Ray Liotta - felt they wouldn't be true to the material if they had done so. I give them credit for that, so I'll rate it as a 'good film' for the narrower audience that won't be disturbed by its intensity.
