This movie is among other things a who-done-it mystery that deliberately gives you enough clues during the movie to figure it out on your own, exactly what a good who-done-it is supposed to do. The scripting is excellent, the plot well directed and the acting first rate. There is also a lot of thinking material in this movie. It is not simply a moralizing about the death penalty, there is a lot more than that going on here.
