Do the oppressors and the oppressed really get what they deserve? Faced with impossible moral dilemmas, such as to whether it is nobler to die today for a cause or to live until tomorrow to struggle (in perhaps a relatively insignificant way) against oppression, each man in this movie attempts to resolve in a different way. Or, is it better to give up a fellow prisoner to save oneself or some other prisoner? Fortunately, the movie focuses on some of the best treated concentration camp prisoners which saves the viewer from seeing much of the worst brutality which existed in those situations. In german with english subtitles, it is well worth the effort.
