In re-editing the movie the editors have taken out what make the characters human and as a result interesting. If you have never seen it before, then it is not a bad introduction to the film. But for the best Apollo 13 experience, buy the DVD and watch the original at home on a decent system. It is evey bit as good a the over rated IMAX experience.
