One of my favorites at the 2006 film festival... A study in quiet but total revenge, with two remarkable leads.

Thrilling in a silent way. I disagree with the review that things "so happened". I believe that everything Déborah François' character did was planned from the start, in a very mysterious, creepy and intelligent way. Also very good acting by all the actors. You'll find yourself trying to read their minds, especially the mind of the character played by Déborah François. You'll be twisting yourself in your seat wondering what she really wants or feels.

Could there be a dumber premise? Stay home and avoid this. And don't forget, this is from France.

A terrific thriller which slowly and creepily builds to its conclusion. Catherine Frot gives yet another very nicely shaded performance as the pianist and Deborah Francois is outstanding in a role which she nicely underplays, managing to be expressionless and deeply unnerving at the same time. If you're willing to be patient and like your films a little on the sophisticated side, you'll probably enjoy this film. If you like over-the-top Hollywood product where everything moves at the pace of high-speed internet connection and every "I" is dotted and every "t" is crossed, you'll probably not like The Page Turner.
