I love Steve Carell. He's a hilarious man. I didn't know anything about the plot of this movie before we rented it, but honestly, it was pretty funny. The beginning is pretty boring, so if you can get through that, you're laughing... literally. The story is a bit cliche, but Steve Carell still makes you laugh and sometimes that's all a movie needs.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and got a lot of laughs from it. The acting was great on Steve Carell's part. It was a very light hearted comedy compared to all the horror out there and would highly recommend you see it.

Where is the art of cinema here, or Even a genuine feel good get away film. Disappointing all the way through. I sensed no chemistry between Binoche or Carell, and Binoche's acting seemed forced and over the top with all her laughing, she has given some great performances in the past... maybe she is just better at tragedy. This is a rehash of a story already told... only its been done much better. Why did J Binoche throw aside her principles and yield to hollywood. I don't know!"Family Stone"succeeds where this film just can't decide if its "The big chill" or countless of films that have come before.

Pleasant and enjoyable movie the places you in the role of Dan, in making your moral decision. What would you do?

Okay, first of can I just say: I have never wanted to punch someone in the face as much as I wanted to with Steve Carell's movie daughters. They were hideously annoying and UNREALISTIC. The movie was slow, my mind kept spacing out and thinking of other things. The main characters didn't have much chemistry, either. HOWEVER, it was intriguing to see Steve Carell in that role.

Awesome movie. Great message about life, love and relationships. More serious than I expected but Steve Carell did an awesome job and there was humour where there needed to be. I would pay to see this movie again.

I thought this movie was very good. The kind of move where given the situation, keeps you grounded and brings you back down to reality. I quite enjoyed it.

If you are over 19 years old you will see every plot twist coming within the first ten minutes of this movie. One old plot line after another. The relationship between the two main characters is also a mystery. There doesn't seem like any reason these two would get together. If you like Steve Carrell (and who doesn't), do yourself a favour and watch 40 Year Old Virgin again instead of wasting your money on this movie.

Was expecting so much more. Could not have started any slower than it did, we almost left after the first ten minutes. Got better as it went on and there were enough funny parts to make it worth staying. There was no chemistry between Steve Carell and Juliette Binoche which didn't help. Rent it when it's on dvd but don't go see it at the cinema.

Fantastic Movie one of the two best I've seen all year, for teens, adults, grandparents or anyone thinking about becoming a parent. Fantastic.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I had read that there wasn't much chemistry between the main characters, and I must say that it was definitely true especially in the beginning. The bookstore scene in the 40 year-old virgin was so different in that respect. A bit better later on, and the second half was more enjoyable than the first half.

Loved the movie. It was so funny and so "real life". The only downfall of going to the show was the staff. The staff on Tuesday night was unfriendly, unsmiling and treated us like we were interrupting their time. Come on people, we pay your wages when we pay those hefty prices for a movie and snacks!!!

I really liked Steve Carell's as Dan Burns. Steve was funny and realistically portrayed the father of 3 daughters. He was "real" in this role. People are often goofy and desperate when they are jealous and he showed us this side of humans. Juliette Binoche was terrific in playing Dan's love interest.

I went to see this movie with all three of my sisters and we all loved it, we were quoting it for weeks afterward. Funny, shows the craziness of big families and of love. Go see it!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I thought the movie was pretty good. I thought it was so realistic, because it was a great story about family and love that everyone can relate to on some level. You really start to feel and care for the Dan. The piano scene was funny... I laughed. The scene with his daughters was sad... I cried. This movie had everything, sad, happy, and everything in between. And of course the ending was great.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It started off slow, but picked up pace as the movie went on. What was so great about it, was that it was so realistic. It was a great story about family and love that everyone can relate to on some level. Watch for the part when they are singing at the piano - it had me laughing so hard I was in tears!

This movie was happy, sad, and everything in between. The storyline was great and you really start to care for the character Dan. I think this is a good movie to go with your family to see!

I'm not sure why people are saying this is hilarious. It was cute. That's about it. If you are the woman who was about 8 rows back from me, then you are probably giving this movie a 10 out of 10 (she literally laughed everytime a person moved in the movie) Admittedly, she may have ruined the film a little for me, but even with her out of the picture, I still don't see what the big deal with this film really was. You have a funny premise filled in with the "gleest" family I've ever seen, coupled with frustrating plot-pace. So, overall it was an okay film that could have been much better."Cute" pretty much sums it up. Take a woman with you... tell her you thought it was deep... try to look serious.
