Don't be put off by the person who's really upset about this movie. If you're looking for something different and something that you haven't seen before, then this movie's for you (whether you have a lot of degrees or not) My problem with so many films these days is that you know exactly where they are going - with "Six Figures", you don't. It held me right up until the end frame and is one of the few films lately that I went away thinking about afterwards. I really enjoyed the way it was shot and the pacing wasn't slow at all - yes it doesn't move along like a hollywood thriller, but then if you want that sort of thing there are all sorts of Harrison Ford films out there to satisfy. And the best part was acting. I thought JR Bourne did a great job. He made me question exactly what sort of person he is through out the entire movie. Defintely worth checking out.

I was really not impressed. The plot was terrible and the film itself was a comparale to taking a sleeping pill. I have not been so bored at a movie ever! I guess this explains why my friend and I were the only ones in the theatre!

This is what movies used to be about. Now days it's special affects, big blockbusters. I got to feel these characters. The actors were very good. It was wonderfully casted. I personally think he did it but the director leaves that up for interpretation. I have never seen shots done the way some of them were on the buildings. It was very clever. I think there should've been a little more music used but for a independent film I really enjoyed it.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
Does anyone have contact info for the producer of this mind-numbing waste of time? I want him to refund my ticket price personally. Doesn't anyone screen films before they make it to a theatre, even an art-house theatre? Well. Somebody should. Doesn’t the producer have friends? Buddies from whom he can solicit a pre-general release opnion. “Uh gee David, um, maybe you could cut down some of those 4 minutes long close-ups of the guys face, or add some exciting bits, or something”? Shot in Calgary should not be enough to get a film shown in Calgary. Nor should a Canadian made film get passable reviews, just because it's Canadian. By the way, to all artsy readers of this review, please save your “well he just doesn’t understand art and subtle messages” nonsense. I have more degrees than you do. Besides, this review is MUCH more exciting, than Six Figures. You should send me $20. Where to begin... Slow cannot begin to describe the excruciating pace and lack of events in this film (won't call it a movie, because movies "move! ) This easily could have been edited down to 30 minutes. Plot? Just a string of unfinished, non-connected, unresolved mini-ideas. Is it a crime mystery? No. The COPS aren’t from Calgary, they are from Keystone. “Golly, with no other fingerprints, what can we do but let everyone go? ” The Calgary Police Association should march in protest. Greed. Don't think so. We’re never given as much as an inkling of the connection between money and attempted murder. None. Family dynamics? Maybe, except the whole attempted murder thing gets in the way. Competition for status in Calgary? Doesn't even touch it, unless the director hasn't met anyone higher on the economic ladder than non-profit staff and art salespeople. 100 minutes into the movie, my wife ominously started whispering, “oh no, after all this, I think it’s just going to end like that. ” I laughed off that threat, know that no film could possible punish its audience in such a scurrilous way. Then it ended. Just like that. SPOILER WARNING! This film is about nothing. Being about something requires idea development – utterly absent in this film. Well no, maybe there is something…. Maybe this film is evidence that Canadians either should not be allowed near cameras and scripts, or that someone in the Ministry of Culture owes me a BIG explanation for pissing away who knows how much money in the name of CanCon. Sorry to be cranky. But putting up with zillions of “pretty darn fair” Canadian movies is enough for the industry and government to ask of me. To then ask that that I pay $20 for my wife and I to watch “Six Figures” without my demanding a refund, is just too much..
