The animation was okay, characters bleh, plot bleh. I was bored most of the time through the movie.

This is a masterpiece of animation. So well crafted that it is astounding to watch. I brought my niece who is 10 and she was ok with the scary parts. But it is too scary for children younger than 10.

Pretty creepy movie, I liked it though. Some of the movie made no sents but it was still excellent. I didn't know what would happen next at all. Very good. A must see.

It was a good movie but at some parts it would be kinda scary.

A story that engages, characters you care about, exceptional visuals... What is there not to like? Maybe too scary for very young kids, but it's a pleasure to spend money to watch something this good.

The movie is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! If you haven't seen it... seriously go see it now! It is a must see!!! My age was also a pretty good age for this movie! Me and my other friends (10 years old) really enjoyed this movie!

I went to the theatre with my son and his girlfriend and at the last minute I decided to see Coraline instead of Watchmen and I am sooo glad I did. Very entertaining and the 3D is brilliant!

Impressive technology but not great story. Neil Gaiman overuses magic doors to other places too much. It gets tedious and is so literal a way of getting around when - with a little more imagination - anything is possible. Took too long to get dark and if it had dared to get darker and lose some of the cuteness it could have been a landmark, maybe a classic. And what's with casting "stars" in animation roles? I DON'T WANT to recognize a star's voice in an animated movie. Stars are as artificial as cartoons, so casting them as cartoons is like having Bugs Bunny as voice by Fred Flintstone - it is both irrelevant and distracting.

When my friend invited me to see Coraline, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go. I'm way past animation and I heard it was made by stop motion with puppets, or something like that. Turns out, the animation was really well done, and the story was great too. However, it was quite freaky and I wouldn't recommend it for children under the age of 10, or even 11 or 12. There are ladies with HUGE (like, REALLY HUGE) boobs, and it can be very scary for those not used to scary movies. All in all, I liked it and may go back to see it again.

The screen play need much more work. However, it is technically a good animation.

An amazing, twisted & fun film! LOVED it! The STOP MOTION animation was wonderful (no it's not a computer-made movie), and the images/sets are remarkable! Little kids could be scared, but it's more weird than scary, really. Can't wait for it to come out on dvd!!

Coraline was impressive. Yes, the storyline was simple, but sometimes complex plots are not necessary. The movie really brings to life an alternate world and reality through the beautiful artwork and soundtrack. It was memorable, funny, and twisted. It is worth watching in the theatre for the full experience (and for the 3D)

What I don't get is some people think it is scary and even if it is it is stupid they make it look like a sweet animation for kids then they scare the living crap out of the kids what no one else want to see a stupid animation but kid but they can't see it because it is to scary!!!

The graphic was fun to watch but the story was simple. I like the idea that it is a kind of a hunted house.

This film is brilliant! 10 out of 10. Those people on here who are rating it low, like 1 out of 10 simply don't have the minds to comprehend it. Go in with an open mind and enjoy.

Best movie I've seen in a while. I thought it was very exhilarating. A little creepy at parts, but the creepy parts weren't bad (they just make you jump a little) Why are some people saying they children fell asleep, don't you think they could have been tired? I fell asleep in a movie and I got mad about it, I didn't say the movie was bad. Sometimes I think the kids are just mad they missed it. Also, another remark, I'm ten years old and can write better than you (learn to write)

I was a little disappointed in this movie. The first half was quite good but the last half was very simplistic and a real let down. It was more of an adult movie than a child movie. There is nothing really scary in the movie to scare the little ones but it would be rather boring for them.

The plotline was lacking but props for originality and creativity. Also, they could have used the 3D a lot better. Meh - not that great.

The book is much better. I thought they should have kept it closer to the book and not have added different characters scenes and miss spink and miss forcible were too different for me.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Remove your eyes for buttons - trapped souls - - hideous creature at the end - - This is a seriously scary movie -it is NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 10!!! For a child, the animation and imagination presenting the story is negated by terror - my kid had nightmares and completely forgot the really funny, beautiful parts.

Definitely good, quite creepy, worth a watch. But WHY must people bring small bored children, toddlers especially to a movie specifically marketed as NOT FOR SMALL CHILDREN? Then let them run amok for an hour... why? Anyway, if it happens to you, tell an usher, then on the way out, demand a refund, if it happens enough, maybe they will stop letting [...] brats inside.

Good Movie but equal to the rating of the book. Fairly simple story line which makes it easy to watch for all age groups. A couple of scary scenes for the real young, but overall not bad.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] CORALINE CORALINE you rule Dakota Fanning did an amazing job for voice and its true NOT RECOMMENDED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN the movie has frightening scenes the story all starts by a child is not miserable but parents dosen't have enough time to spend with her and on they way she meets whyborn but she calls him were you born. It the movie Coraline got poison ivy. Coraline's life is weird she has no good food and like I said her parent don't have much time to spend with her. Yes thats true but at night the door come with a new surprise Coraline's... other mother... See the movie is so interesting to let you know and it is frightening because of the ghost and scary scenes as the story continues don't miss Corline but it has something inappropriate... aaa. Aaa... aaa... aahhh... nooo... help... a women... ALMOST. Nu... d...

I thought it was just alright. Too dark for younger kids - say under 8. It would have spooked the pants off me at that age. I was pretty creeped out as an adult. Clever story, reminded me of James and the Giant Peach. It was a little too long for me and the 3D wasn't as good as some 3D's I've seen before. The movie lost its steam about half way through.
