Inkheart was a pretty good movie, however, it was not true to the book at all!!! Farid looks way too old! This movie is worth wasting 2 hours of your life on, but only just.

When I saw the trailer for this movie I was not expecting much. In fact the only reason I went to see it is because Brandon Fraiser is in it and I think hes cute. However I was completely surprised by the movie. The characters are so well developped. I automatically fell in love with Paul Bettany who plays Dustfingers. They didnt hurry the plot they didnt add anything stupid to the story. It was truly a very entertaining movie to watch. I highly recommend it.

I liked it at times... reminds me of Narnia in a good way... but all and all out and out it was OK.

This is a so so movie... if you read the book you'd understand the movie but I didn't read the book and some parts I find difficult to understand how it fits into the story. Just like lord of the rings or harry potter... thing is I know the stuff in harry potter but I never a single book from it.

I liked it but I was kind of disappointed because I read the book first and it is nothing like it but it was still a good movie but don't read the book first or you will get very frustrated.

Yeah so I havent read the book but me and 5 friends went too go see it. The whole thing was ridiculously predictable, the story line was just silly, and me and my buddy couldnt help but laugh at some of the acting. Dont bother.

I haven't read the whole book but it was a not to bad movie. Most of the actors fit the part and the effects where cool the ending was better. [...]

If you've read the book this is definitely not the movie for you. The casting was done horribly, they did not follow the plot well, and overall it wasn't the best movie of the millennium. The book was waaay better! :)

I enjoyed the movie immensely. The story is excellent and the actors are great. Better than Coraline. Lots of action.

I like it. I did not read the book. But it was easy to follow. I like toetoe from the wizard of oz. It was like magic coming out from a book. When Meggie and her dad read the book it come to life that was cool. I hope they make a 2 movie.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This movie was horrible! If you have read the book (like me) you would know that the producer's didn't follow the story line very well. They totally messed up the ending making it all " and they all lived happily ever after". In the original book left it open for a sequel with a slightly dark ending. And they didn't even develop the books big characters well. For example, Basta played a major role in the book and when I was telling this to my dad and brother they said "Basta, who's Basta? " I recommend you do not ever watch this movie!!!

It was an pretty good movie full of suspense and action but I think they could have gone with out some parts. I probably would have rented it instead.

The movie was actually pretty interesting; the story was actually about a story. And who doesn’t like Andy Serkis, he’s always funny. The movie probably would have been a lot better for me if I hadn’t gotten the large iced tea. Lets just say I was distracted for the last half an hour. You should go see it the movie was pretty decent.

I have never in my entire life been so bored in a movie theater. Predictable plot, predictable dialogue - wanted to claw my eyes out. But I probably would have loved it if I was a nine year old boy.

It was really bad!! I wouldn't waste your money on seeing it. I went with all my friends and we all thought it was retarded! It has those fake scary scenes! Voted the worst movie by Lauren in 2009!

I went to see this movie last week and I thought it was pretty good - nothing spectacular though. I remember reading one of the books when I was in my mid-teens and loving it. Obviously the book is MUCH better (though I may be biased) Book to film adaptations are extremely difficult but can be done (LOTR is a prime example) Regardless of whether or not you read any of the books it's still an entertaining film and worth watching.

Personally, I loved it. Sure it's not going to be getting any awards, but I thought the actors did a terrific job. I'm a big fan of the book and was very happy with the way the story was portrayed on screen. The special effects were amazing. It's a great film, perfect for the family.

Not much into fantasy movies but the story line was progressive while adding a twist to relationships. This movie kept your interest for the most part, with little down time. Good story line in general. This would be an excellent movie or rental for the family to watch as violence, language and nudity are basically non-existent. The fantasy part was well done also.

The book, as usual, was much better than the movie. Still, the movie was well worth the wait. It is excellent, and I hope they make a movie for 'Inkspell' and 'Inkdeath'.

Serously this was a waist of my money. The book is way better than this crap!!! It was disapointing to see that they could screw up. This is a rentable not even worth paying $12. Don't go see!

SLOW... The best one word description I can give. I expected a fast paced action-adventure skipping from one novel to another from the trailers I'd seen. My daughter and girlfriend liked it and as a family movie it's worth seeing but I'm hard pressed to give it a better score.

Inkheart was a very good movie I have read all the books and I fond that if you tried not to think about the novels you enjoyed the movie a whole lot more. I thought the movie was portrayed very well and Paul Bettany was amazing as dustfinger.

A decent movie, entertaining for the most part and not overdone. The actor who played the father was mismatched with his role but some of the other-Dustfinger and the adolescent daughter-were quite well played. Some of the scenery is stunning, the costumes for the most part unremarkable.
