-very similar to Solaris with George Clooney released a few years prior, Sunshine is really not a bad film but like many new releases they suffer from poorly constructed soundtracks where even at high volume levels you cant make out the dialogue, and those same high volume levels with hurt your ears when the action picks up-personally I hate having to adjust the volume 50 times during a film-it ruins it completely in the home setting-sloppy production work I suppose-or maybe the effects that work in a cinema fail badly in the home setting-8 outta 10 for visuals, but 2 outta 10 for having to repeatedly reset the volume level on my TV when I watched it on DVD, which more or less puts it in land of the diapers-

Omg words cannot describe the amount of adrenilin this movie pumps into your system. A realistic plot, breathtaking shots just incredable.

Hey, I like science fiction. And science. And movies. But this was a colossal waste of time. The premise is fine, but the dialoge was written by 13 year old boys, and the cast may have had some high school acting experience. Or maybe not. The scenes were largely low-quality rip-offs of 2001, Silent Running, and a lot of horror flicks. It's all been done before, and much better. We're clearly supposed to ooh and ahh whenever they turn up the brightness, or do some other crummy effect. Grrr.

I don't understand how a stupid crew like that could have such an ambition, I felt it like an insult to the audience's intelligence, I didn't even like the VFX because they make no sense, abracadabra.

It went way too far, and included feature which had nothing to there. Quite disapointed seeing some of the actors in it.

Compared with all the crap we've been served in the last 10-15 years this one is a gem. A really good piece of hard core sci-fi, genre that has non seen anything half decent since the first 2 Aliens.

Hi quality science fiction film, not intended for people who are used to having a plot spoon fed to them. I am surprised and disappointed by the other cinemaclocker reviews of this movie... And this is why I have chosen to add my votes towards a higher rating.

Hi there, sci-fi I just love, but this one,... Good scenes, good special effects, but that's about it, very little explainations throught out the all movie, and bad filming, the producer or the guy that has put this one together should go back to school or change profession. I don't recommend, waste of time and money.

Best sci-fi movie in a decade!

An intelligent sci-fi film that speculates that the future of the human race might, one day, be dependant on the strengths of individual people and their machines or, on the other hand, be doomed by mankind's weaknesses. Destined to be a classic.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL) And to all those who are giving this movie a low rating, you obviously haven't read an Alex Garland book before, or you wouldn't have taken to the style and ending so badly. To be honest, it was risky changing the pace of the film by the last quarter, but I think that he and Danny Boyle pulled it off. It kept me on my toes and I left the cinema still in awe... Amazing visuals and the sound editing was phenomenal. Their concept of the sound of solar wind was just... Incredible! I was taken away. We're going back to see it tonight!

This is a movie for sci-fi fans. Those who don't like sci-fi won't like this movie. Even then, I give 7 out of 10... Concept was interesting. I went just to encourage the sci-fi genre... Current decade is seeing the worst sci-fi movie supply in the past few decades.

It's a movie about re-starting the sun. If you have expectations that go beyond this premise don't bother going. If however you like intelligent understated sci-fi films with great visuals and sound... Go see it.

Highly flawed. Replay of images from past sci-fi movies in a superficial mindless copy-paste operation. The editing is sloppy. Total waste of time. Happy to see credits roll - ending my misery. Its only positive attribute is the sound track but not enough to fill the time. IF you must see this movie, at least wait for the rental and save your money. Better yet, see something better - you can't miss.

I have high expectations of this movie - it looked like a good idea. However, the characters and dialogue were not great - the cast was great and handled it as best they could - it looked nice but it relied too heavily on special effects. The effects were good, but that's still no excuse. A lot of the problems were kind of silly, and by the end it totally broke down. Pretty disappointing considering the actors/filmmakers involved.

Ah Danny Boyle. Brilliant. The imagery is incredible. The pacing is a la Herzog and the sets are incredible. Very good. Very good indeed.

The director should gave half his paycheck to the creator of Event Horizon. Same idea, you would think they would change a bit so people won't compare it to EH (Event H.) but no. What a disappointment...
