I am a huge fan of the books and movies and I thought this movie was fantastic! Many of the important things from the books have been included. All things cut were done so neccesarily to keep the time down. There are a few major plot points that didn't seem to get a cross as well but I'm sure the writers/director have a plan on how to express them in the next 2 films. If you haven't read the books, this movie will probably be confusing because of cuts in plot. It feels a bit like they are just setting up the next films rather than actually telling a story which, I suppose is what the book does, but I wouldn't suggest watching it if it's your first harry potter experience. There are however some very funny scenes in this movie that really added character to it and let the actors shine.

What's wrong with this I thought. This movie was good, but I would have liked to see more Voldermort. He's a key character.

As someone who is not a fan of the books, can't say these movies are making any impression on me. The first was okay but after that, they all follow the same lame plot and if you like more of the same, then you'll probably enjoy this movie. Would have been nice to have an original story and a new foe for Harry.

As the series gets nearer towards the end the movies are getting worse! Funny how none of the Ghosts are at the meals like in the first movie and there are tons of things like this that are lacking too!

David Yates is the first director since Chris Columbus to direct two Potter films and he is doing the last one - which will separated into two features cause of the length - and its definitely the way to go. Yates took the best out of Alfonso Cuaron's third episode in the franchise and mix it with his own storytelling style. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince seems to serve as a bridge movie for the final act. There is less action than in previous films, despite a running time of two hours and a half. Doesnt mean its boring though, it might actually be one of the best in the franchise yet. The characters are very engaging, ts all about them growing up, evolving, learning to deal with the world, they are no kids anymore, they're becoming adults in their own rights. This sixth film is kind of built of subplots, all interesting ones, some lighter, but others darker. Still, we get a lot of humor, magic and intense moments. Lots of stuff happens and many things are revealed, which explains the lack of action, to give more importance to those events. Also I think, Half-Blood Prince might be the one film in the franchise filled with the most genuine emotions, which is a good thing. The ending gives an opening for the next chapter, which should be quite epic. I'm looking forward to that conclusion.

The movie felt rushed. To me, it would have been better if the movie had slowed down and been one hour longer.

Better than order of the phoenix... surprising as it was nearly as long and just as challenging. A definite must-see movie whether you are a Potter fan or not.

Another Harry Potter movie that's just as good as the other Harry Potter movies. Full of great cinematography and story-line. Great costumes and perfect for Halloween season coming.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Oh my gosh! Best harry potter ever. I think the weakest part of the movie was the ending but it is forgiven, because David yates put his amazing effort into the character design in this movie. I mean so manny romantic scenes and the great character comedy and work put into this movie was great. Nobody actually expected it but it was really fun and exciting. Like you have got characters like Draco who popped out here and there in the last couple of movies, and now you see him as a real honest and great character and how he is forced on the dark side. People like Ginny Wealsey you have seen also in the last couple of movies, popping out in some scenes. Now you saw her as more of a main character in my perspective. She was going out with Dean Thomas, then with a relationship with harry. Very well detailed. Harry and Ron being more Sarcastic and really funny in this movie as well. Really great work done. Hermione getting a bit annoyed and getting feelings for Ron due to Lavender Brown in this film. Really amazing Job there as well. I can't believe its almost over, 2 more years to go and then thats it of the harry potter series, I think the last to movies are gonna be great and the most dark and thrilling movies so far. I would have to rate this Harry potter Film a 10/10 really good character work and great animation with this film as well. I'm your #1 harry potter fan critic and I have got a feeling last one will give you all the answers!!! Have Fun watching Harry Potter Fans.

Perhaps one of these days, maybe even before they film the last movie, they can teach these kids how to act or something. I mean, lord knows I would rather not complain about their work, but I've seen more emotional expression from hand puppets! Emma Watson is consistently horrible as an actor and has been since film 1 of the series. Bad direction maybe? Perhaps, but then with this many movies on her resume you'd think she'd have learned something by now so you can't fault the directors too much unless you include casting. Ah yes, I remember when movies had standards and directors terrorized the actors into giving their best performances or else they would be replaced. These kids are nice enough people I'll warrant, but as actors they roundly suck.

Not as edge-of-your-seat as other Harry Potter movies, but if you've seen the books you know that there are ups and downs and each part is totally worth it.

It's a great movie! Cant wait for (harry potter and the deathly hollows) in 2010 and 2011!!! Until then you have to watch this one! In the end you will think is that all? But remember this is not where the story ends! Next one coming in 2010!

Good movie in general, however, it lacks the true spirit of Harry Potter, ex. The first 2 movies. It also feels very slow, as if almost nothing happens until the end, although it was 2 1/2 hours long. But definitely worth your 10 or so dollars and to buy on DVD.

I saw it out of habit. I don't expect the Harry Potter movies to be amazing anymore, but considering JK Rowling is there overseeing the whole process, I think she should have made sure it was closer to the books. So many important memories were left out, the usual mixing of plot details occurs, and though there is quite a bit of character development, the "love" theme seems to make the plot so much less substantial. Dumbledore however, seemed more like himself in this movie... At least he got it by the end. But next time, replace the useless scenes for real ones.

Harry is turning into a soap... now that the main cast are all 18+, all that is missing is T & A... ?! Slow paced, boring and more of the same Harry tricks and crap. The worst of the crop; at best worth 6½.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the most adventures, brilliant movie. It has so much excitment and drama. This is a movie you must see.

A-m-a-z-i-n-g!!! It was hilarious I thought I'd pee my pants it was so funy... also there was a lot of romance like harry and genie and whatnot truly remarkable... from all the harry potter's I agree that this one was focused more on their social life than on voldemort but it's still a must see!!

Not as good as some of the Harry Potter movies, but I really liked it because it was a lot funnier than some of the other Harry Potters.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I graded this a 7 because, although it's quite entertaining, it's disappointing in a few ways. (1) The opening scene was a bit ridiculous, although Fenrir Greyback looked very menacing - that was cool. (2) Dumbledore picking up Harry in the Subway station was such a disappointing departure from the book where this scene was brilliantly funny and represents a huge development in the relationship between Harry and Dumbledore. This scene was just awful. (3) the added scene where the death eaters attack The Burrow served no purpose whatsoever. It didn't push the story line forward, it didn't add any meaning to the story, and it didn't change the course of the story. This scene was a very bad idea. But overall, it was fun and, in some parts, quite funny and touching.

For a fan who has read them all and sees everyone the day it comes out it was just amazing, another movie to continue a incredible story. But with honesty and some critquing... the movies always miss so much that the books have. I was still always on the edge of my seat, even though I knew what was coming next. I loved it!

This movie has everything! Action, adventure, romance, humor, ect. It was a great adaptation of the book, especially considering they only had about two and a half hours to fit such a complex story. The acting was AMAZING!!!

I think it's good for people who have either read the books or watched the other movies recently! If the last time you saw a HP movie was when the last one was in theatres, you will probably miss things -or fall asleep like my mother did!!! :) Pretty true to the book in my opinion... and I read the books a LOT!

OK... I have been super busy so I only had a chance to go and see the movie when it was in its 6th week. I give this movie a "B". That's right... a big "B" for boring!!! I loved all the previous Harry Potter movies but this one just doesn't cut it... Let's face it folks this movie was simply a build up for the next movie and a quick money maker... and shame on the director for those creepy characters coming out of the water... did they look familiar? Hello... Lord of the Rings.

It was really great, and like all the other Harry Potter movies, it's was funny, action packed, and very magical. It must be so challenging for them to write a script that includes the entire story since the book is HUGE! I loved it, and I think if you're a Potter fan like I am, you'll love it too!

Worst of the frenchise ever. So slow moving and boaring that I nearly fell asleep several times. This will be the last HP movie I ever see. Don't waste your time.

So very disappointed with this movie. So many changes to the story line, too much focus on unimportant things. Very slow, needed a better script writer and am very surprised that J. K. would allow them to do this to her story line. Movies getting worse not better like the books. What's going on?

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Very, very, very disappointing for those who read the book. SO much is left out, they don't even mention dumbledores hand, and that might leave the people who didn't read the book very confused, also riddles history is left out, fleur isn't mentioned, ginny hides the diary (which is how harry finds the diadem, the HUGE fight never happens (what I was really looking forward to), and much much more, to be replaced with pointless constant love. I admit the book has it too, but the book doesn't leave you confused and without action. HUGE FAN of the books, the movies are so-so, but I definitely disliked this HP movie the most, I know it's a new director, but for me the magic of harry potter just wasn't there. Sorry.
