User's review

I lived in the US for a few years and this movie basically rings true. Having your health-insurance tied to your job sucks. There was a woman at the place I worked who needed hip surgery. Without it she wouldn’t be able to walk in a year. The company was failing and she hobbled into work every day and worked like a dog to help keep us going. When the company finally went into receivership, they took advantage of the situation to get rid of her, thus avoiding the cost of her surgery. The last I heard she was on welfare, too crippled to get a job. As a Canadian, this movie is more of a curiosity than a burning concern; rather like watching primitive tribes on the nature channel. It’s a cautionary tale about what could happen to us if we swallow the lies of the insurance industry and their lapdogs at the National Post and allow private health insurance back into Canada.
