Overall pretty good. Some dark humor here and there.

It was amazing!!! I would have given it a 10 but there was a little too much violence. I'm not saying shouldn't go see it, I'm just saying that it's not very suitable for young children ( 7 and under )

Not bad, I saw it on IMAX so the visuals were great... the ending was abrupt thought but it really wasn't that bad; I usually don't get critical on childrens movies just because I realise it's geared for a younger audience... so not a bad movie.

It was the worst movie ever it and was nothing like the book all the words they spoke where boring. They basicly cut out the forth book.

Well, I must say I enjoyed most of this movie. It had its ups, but it also had its downs. I did not fail to remark that the entire fourth book was not included in this film. The magnificent wood elves that were supposed to play a great part in this movie were not even mentioned. I think it might have been possible to add at least one of those things. Although it has it's downs, it also had it's ups. I was relieved to see that you had kept the majority of the characters (Thimbletack, Hogsqueal) were looking the same. The ending was different also, but it was a good, happy ending so what I intend to say is I enjoyed it. It has it's funny parts, it's sad ones and happy ones. All in all, it was a good movie, definitely worth seeing and highly recommended for younger viewers, they would find it hilarious and I'm sure would want to see it again.

Spiderwick Chronicles is a very good movie for people who love adventures! Although the movie is nothing like the book you will love it! I would not recommend this to a younger audience because of the surprises you might run into. A MUST SEE MOVIE.

Very enjoyable. Well paced. Nice effects. Story could have had a bit more meat to it but maybe the sequels will add to the story.

The movie was not like the books! It should have been just like the books. If it were it would have been great.

Without a doubt it was a good movie. Freddie Highmore did a great job acting as two main characters. The animation was superb and it had a bit of humour in it as well. But some parts were boring. It can also be scary for littler kids. I do not recommend this for anyone under age 10 and under.

I was a little bit disapointed. I thought that there would have been more creatures and monsters in this film.

I took my two grandsons (4 & 9) and we all enjoyed it. Even the 4 yr old found it more exciting than frightening. I'll be buying it when it comes out on DVD.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] "The Spiderwick Chronicles" is not just an exciting fantasy adventure for children, but also a timeless tale of family, morality, and the psychological and spiritual battles that ensue when parents separate. The film makes excellent use of fantasy and special effects to illustrate the impact of parental abandonment on children. Specifically, the departure of the "twins'" father drives the two boys apart, one apparently becoming the perfect "good son," and the other, the mischievous "bad son." The story that despite parental abandonment, salvation is nonetheless possible, as the "twin" son (s) re-unite to battle together against the evil, ogre-father figure. Ultimate redemption occurs when the "bad" son discovers the truth of his father's lies, and is able to recognize and name his severed relation for what it truly represents: abandonment. The "twin" sons ultimately discover they can successfully psychologically fuse their two "halves" by uniting in battle to save their fragile family. This film is a must see for every child of divorce and abandonment! -Tony in Montreal.

I don't know, maybe I thought it was going to be more than what it was. That sounds confusing, but it just wasn't what I expected it to be. It's OK I guess. I wouldn't buy it on DVD or anything though.

I thought it wasn't bad at all, but for all you people who said it was bad, suck it up. It wasn't horrible! Anyways, overall cute but it did get a little tiresome.

It was a good movie, but another one thats hard to classify. Too scary for young kids, but maybe too young for older kids. I went to see it with my mom and we enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly our age level. Same old plot, but visually stunning. A pleasant movie, nothing brilliant.

This was a great movie! It was really gentle but had some thrills and chills. LOTS of non- realistic junk but thats just what makes the movie! If your gonna see this I just wanna say not to bring real little kids Bcuz theres some real action, no gore or anything but it'll have you on the edge of your seat!
