A 40-year old Russian satellite broke down and NASA officials try to find a way to fix it. They decide to hire Frank Corvin (Clint Eastwood), a retired pilot, who is the one man alive who can do the job. Frank accepts the job at the condition he can bring his team along: Hawk Hawkins (Tommy Lee Jones), Jerry O'Neil (Donald Sutherland) and Tank Sullivan (James Garner), all retired pilots. Seasoned veterans with an attitude, they will be tested and they will need every ounce of strength to make it through their abbreviated training and to complete their mission.
