This is a very well done movie, and my only complaint, like every other person who saw this, is the added ending that was not intended to be there. If you want to have this movie be good in your memory, leave when you feel that it should be over. Don't worry about offending anyone. Or, remember that the 2nd ending is like a bit of fanfiction fluff to force a happy ending. The CG is amazing and the movie is thought provoking about how far we will go as a species with our reliance on computers for companionship, for service workers, repair bots, and so forth, until our society collapses and humans become the obsolete technology. Go see it.

This movie will have you thinking for awhile. It's not E. T by any stretch but it was never supposed to be. Surprisingly sad and melancholy but very memorable.

Ever heard of the movie Pinnochio? This is a rehash of Bicentenial Man, Pinnochio and D. A. R. Y. L. That all have it's roots in man's inhumanity to himself by trying to make himself immortal through other means. Truly not a "Scary" movie as some have portrayed but rather depressing, not sad. Don't dwell on this one too long or you might actually think that this film has some merit.

A wonderful film, absolutely heartbreaking story. Haley Joel Osmond was amazing, his face at the bottom of the ocean wanting what he can never have still haunts me.

I saw this movie awhile back on CBC and I have to say, it was THE scariest movie I have EVER seen--and Horror movies are generally my thing. No, this movie beats out The Shining, The Exorcist, Saw, ANYTHING... if you want a good scare, that is. On the movie scale itself... Ehhh... Not so good.

Well acted. Interesting concept. Impact would have been more effective if movie ended when David sunk to the bottom of the water and encountered his "princess".

Great movie, I actually cried at the ending, and I'm a grown 23 year old man. The movies that emotionally touched me were, Gladiator, the lion king, & million dollar baby.

A little strange, a bit weird, but a good show nonetheless. I thought the special affects were good. The story was unique. Dragged a bit and was slow in parts but overall I really enjoyed this film.

Having myself to be not into the psychological kind, I really found this movie to be touching and really good except wasn't crazy about the ending which I found to be long and draggy otherwise it would be noted to be in the top ten rating.

This movie is excellent in my opinion. I believe Spielberg did a good job with Kubrick's story. However the ending is what gets the most complaints.

I was afraid to watch this one because I thought it would be a ET / Pinnochio - type fluffy movie. It's dialouge brings up questions pertaining to the darker side of the human condition, love and what really defines 'human' in real depth. I think you might have to have some kind of parental bond to relate and get the most out of this movie. Nice touch with the supertoy bear. Classic material.

I am known to be a person who enjoys movies that are darker in nature. But I had friends who thought the movie was not dark enough. It's true that the movie ended the way Spielberg wanted since Kubrick allowed him. Still, I thought the movie dealt with the dark side of human nature, while retaining sentiment. I guess I do like some warm and fuzzy plots in movies.

WOW the best movie of that year!!! I regret I've waited that long to watch it, it was like watching 3 good movie in one. At first it was a good psychological movie. Then it became a adventourus movie. And at last it became an hardcore Sci-Fi movie. Note that that movie is made to make you think... if you dont like to think then dont watch it. The kid was faboulus in is role and the carachter was really greats. I event liked the teddy bear and almost cried when I realise he was the narator.

"Artificial Intelligence" is a film that I found somewhat fascinating but mostly frustrating. The boy robot's search for human love and emotions in a harsh world symbolizes the predicament of people in the real world: increasing emotional alienation in a world over-saturated with technology. I started off feeling sympathy for the boy robot, but got annoyed with the film's cloying sentimental undercurrents and at times "muddy" plot. The last half hour of the film left me puzzled. This film doesn't live up to its potential.

Good Visual Movie, great idea that could have been developped more. But the movie laked substance in the acting and drama. Way to slow.

AI is the perfect combination of the Spielberg and Kubrick genius. It mingles Spielberg's love of childhood and children with Kubrick's hope for the future and young people, as expressed strongly in "2001" and "Eyes Wide Shut." Jude Law, whose role as robot makes him more human than the child's true father, is fantastic. Kubrick's ideal of Pinocchio who wants to be a "real boy" answers the eternal question of how we can become genuine human beings in a dreadful world. The unity of mother and child is inspirational.

Yeha this is the ever bad movie of Steven I have seen so far. In the begining it was good. But it was too long after one hr or so and was meaningless after that. Plot of last 45 minutes of the movie fails the whole movie. Rest everything is good. A good time pass if you have a lot of time. I want to say one thing this guy Haley Joel is a smart kid actor. My thumbs up for him.

An intriguing movie with an intriguing theme - what does it take to be considered "human" by humans? For most it appears to be skin and bones, but for a few, including Spielberg, it the ability to love (in the platonic sense) However the movie doesn't really make this work, because it is simply too long and has too many tangetial stories.

I certainly expected more from a Spielberg film. T started out promisingly enough, but lost my interest about half way through. Haley Joel is great, though, and you gotta love the Teddy...

Not a bad movie. A little on the long side though, maybe because too many side themes were explored. The ending made the movie easy to forget about.

This movie starts out with an intrguing storyline, but somewhere along the line, it switches gears from sci/fi to just plain silliness. If it ended 1/2 hour sooner, it would have done much better.

The movie fails on some dimensions and grabs strengths from others. In many ways it's touching and heart-wrenching and I admit it was odd to catch Spielberg in Stanley Kubrick-mode but it does show his range can be magnificent. The movie lacks direction, which is the greatest weakness any picture can have, and unfortunately it drags the premise out too far. It's devastating to see potential that could have been perfection.

This was an honest NEVER ENDING movie! So many times it seemed liked the movie was over and then it wasn't but it didn't seem to have any point. I'm guessing they were trying to show the long long passage of time but did it have to be sooooo boring? The beginning was OK but it's a miracle I actually stayed for the whole thing.
