We know about the atrocities that happen to illegal immigrates forbidden but tolerated by the US Government with the silent approval of Mexico, but seeing it so well portrayed is another thing. Very rarely do we watch such a crude portrait without any sentimental blackmale. A must.

Not so so. The movie was boring, I'm not sure what else to say, just not worth it really.

This is a very real movie. You are shown the part of the journey and manner of travel by a great many people who are immigrants and are hoping for a better life. Although it is rough and blunt, it is true to the core. It is humbling and worth seeing.

This movie follows in the footsteps of great movies coming out of Mexico and South America. Films like Y Tu Mama Tambien, City of God, The Motorcycle Diaries, Amorres Perros and now Sin Nombre are really putting this "genre" on the map. This movie does an excellent job of giving the viewer a glimpse of an immigrant's life on the road from South America to the US and why the dream exists. As a former high school teacher in Oakland, CA - I know this was all too true of a reality for many of my students that found their way "illegally" into the US with their families looking for a better life. Additionally, the perspective it gives on mexican/latino gangs in both the US, Mexico and South America is astonishing. The connection between gangs in South America/Mexico and California & the Southwestern US has not been captured well in a movie quit yet. Regardless, this is a movie worth seeing whether or not immigration or gangs are topics that interest you because it is simply a well made film.

A great movie. It is along the lines of City of God but seems more real given the current events in Mexico. Would absolutely recommend it.

I've seen better movies with better endings! Wait for it on DVD! Not worth the waste of time to see it at the movies!

OK but not nearly as gripping as Slumdog or City of God. It won't be remembered for long.

Brilliant. Raw. Gripping. Beautifully shot and not a candy-coated slumdog movie. Recommend to anyone who isn't afraid of looking at the hard truth square in the eye. DB.

A powerful film depicting the desire of a different life from those who are so close to home and what people will do to get there. Strong performances from the two leads who will go far if they continue to pursue acting.

Much better than City of God. Good movie. Must see it. The real life of many youth who choose the wrong way.

I don't remember the last time I gave a movie 10 out of 10, but this one truly deserves it. A documentary hidden within a fictional story depicting the plight of ordinary people trying to improve their lives against those who would exploit their willingness to sacrifice everything for a better life. Beautifully filmed, well-directed and courageously portrayed by a group of mostly young, unknown actors. This is a film worth your time and money.
