Coming from a north american background for movies and having a love for foreign films, I must say this movie was not for me. It contained all the melodramatic elements of a korean drama and the cgi/special effects of a 90's action movie. If you like any of the two, this is for you! If you only like one and not the other, ure not going to like it. Like Confucius says, the man trying to catch 2 rabbits at the same time ends up catching none. Cheers.

It's so overrated than I thought. Partially, that film press upon impressions, and sometimes dragging to make tears. So is that successful? Partially! It's not boring but don't expect how they make touching. P. S. "I'm your father?" Your daughter is not Zedi, man!

This is probably the most enjoyable, thrilling Asian movie ever.

It was highly enjoyable. The number of people who actually survived the Tsunamies was quite unrealistic though. The one character that should have survived however, died. Apart from that I thought it was cute and funny and the actors especially the lead and his brother were very good looking so it made it worth the watch.

This movie was fabulous. It is very touching. It portrays Tsunami very realistically. It also contained humorous characteristics of actors. I highly recommend this movie!!

Never cried so much during an asian movie! Although some actors were soso and the movie never seemed to end, greatest Tsunami movie ever. Heart-touching film with great actors and actresses as well as a great story. I think I'll go see it again!

Serously abrasive overacting did it for me-it gave me a headache watching it to its end. Funny bits here and thee from a child actor made it more worthwhile. Certain types of characterizations seem to be very popular to use in contemporary Asian Cinema don't work so well in North America, and it was the use of such abrasive characters that some people might feel makes this movie work-but I feel it makes it not work-in a very big way. Sadly, I would not say it was a very satisfying cinematic experience.
