The only reason I went to see this is because my mother wanted to go and it was a total waste of 6.50. Wouldn't see it again unless my life depended on it. It was borrring and stupid and just not my type of movie.

Harrison's Flowers has a few intense moments that make it worthwhile to see. I'm glad this movie didn't get sloppy and sentimental. This movie is a fitting and stirring testament to the lives of news journalists and photographers everywhere who find themselves exposed to life-endangering scenarios on a constant basis. In light of the theme and its subject matter, it would probably be wrong to be overly critical of this film based on the usual elements one is otherwise normally critical of in mainstream films i.e. script/dialogue, acting, cinematography etc. The subject matter is shown in a way that cuts close to the bone in portraying the realism of cross-fire situations that overseas journies find themselves in while bringing stories home and capturing them on film for the world to see. Thought provoking, moving and well-acted, it also meanders and touches lightly on the balancing act a man plays between his dedication to his work and to his family and the role he plays in both, and also in finding that place in the world where one can find a peaceful space that shelters from the static chaos of the world in which we live.
