It was such a shocking movie. Totally not what I expected. I thought it was off the wall and well thought out. I think it gets better after the first time you've watched it. The second time you really catch a lot of the darker jokes. I definitely recomend it to anyone that doesnt easily get offended.

Drama or Comedy? Humm... They try so hard to state a message and be comidic at the same time that you don't know weather to laugh or cry. It's totally looney. But, I watched it and showed it to my friends. I don't know if it was ment to be funny but I sure got a laugh out of it.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] It's almost like this movie tried too hard to state a message. And as it was pounding the same message over and over again, the style of the movie changed from drama to comedy to satire. The camera angles and styles changes from a modern angle to cheesy 1950's "going mad while driving in a car". And speaking of the car, I was unaware that a car would explode in mid air after hitting a guardrail and then leaving a trail of fire as it fell of the cliff ultimatly crashing on the ground with an atomic blast. The only reason I finished this movie is because everytime I thought it couldn't get any worse... it did! This was a waste of film. If you do buy it on DVD do the world a favor and burn it. And yes I do realize what the movie was trying to say and the message that I was trying to get out and the concept of a black comedy dosn't escape me.

Excellent satire on the absurdity of political correctness and social consequences of non-conformity.

I read one reviewer say that the movie would have been better if instead of Broder attempting to write the script so as to hit on various levels, so to speak, he just kept it one-dimensional by sticking to the stereotypes. No, it wouldn't have been as good. Another reviewer said how it insulted his intelligence that too many of the characters went through a personal transformation (were redeemed) at the end. Well, why not. It is a comedy. I can usually see where the opinions of reviewers come from. But, I do not see the problems some of these reviewers seem to think are there.

Problematic if people don't realize that this movie was made to show how stereotypical attitudes of disability are absolutely ridiculous but otherwise, awesome. Everything is blown so out of proportion that it sends quite the message, not about people with disabilities, but with our attitudes towards them. Great satire.

Absolute camp! Wonderful writing, acting and direction! I laughed so hard, I cried... if you don't love this movie, you just don't get it! Brilliant, black comedy.

Overall I liked this movie, not Ricci best movie, but good. The one thing that really stands out about this movie is the fact that every scene seems like it was taken directly from other movies. It's uncanny, and when they play the belle and sebastian song "stars of track and field" the movie moves right a long with the lyrics. There are a lot of underlying things that have not been revealed in this movie, all of the plot holes are their for a reason, I just wish I could figure them all out.

[...] This is a work of such simplicity that you can't even see it. This is the worst movie ever made. It is the greatest movie in history. Submit.

GARBAGE! GARBAGE! GARBAGE! I kept thinking that this movie was trying to be stupid, therefore being funny in the process. But it isn't. It's a huge waste of time, total let down to see Christina Ricci in this. And the portrayals of the mentally challenged guy was so obviously acted. STAY AWAY!!!

Saw this at a sneak preview and I'll admit I went in not expecting pretty much and came out pleasantly surprised. Pretty good story and acting by Ricci and the Pumpkin kid. Just don't take the movie too seriously, because I think that's the way it's intended to be seen.
