I thought the movie was very interesting and really made me sit down and think about life. Catherine was a MILF in this movie and if I was the 17 year old at the 1 hour photo I would have wanted some of that myself.

A mirror to life for many women in this age range, this movie cut through the pretensions and prettiness of many female-oriented women. Contrary to some comments, I found it honest, entertaining, photographically interesting, humorous, and delightful.

I have never seen a movie that insulted not only women but the entire human race so horibly. These women seem to portray a man's view of what shallow women should be. Not only that but these pathetic horible people just cary on being horrible. It amazes me that great actors will stick with such mundane horible scripts to their completion. They must have known that what they were making was crap. They must have!

Neurotic and self-absorbed. Not interesting. Not funny. Not meaningful. Very disappointing. The women are weak characters. People in the theater with me groaned at how bad it was.

My husband couldn't see the point of this film. I went to see Brenda Blethyn, one of my all time favorites, who doesn't even rate a bio on your web site. It was just the kind of movie I love: nothing much happens but it is very reassuring about how we can all muddle through anyway. A slice of real life.

A humorous exploration of women for both men and women alike. A poignant and insightful movie with excellent performances by the always stellar Catherine Keener and first time actress Raven Goodwin tackles a difficult role and invites the audiences into her life, which is cluttered with confusion. All around, Lovely and Amazing is not a 'worth a detour' kind of film, but with memorable performances by all the female leads and young up and comer Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko) , L&A is definitely worth a viewing.

Loved it. Laughed all the way through. Insightful about women's body image issues and not too tedious or cheesey.

I read the other reviews about this movie, and I beg to differ... this movie is rich in it's way of capturing the beauty of life and the trouble that it can get you into. Catherine Keener is insanely impecable in this particular role. I love how she always portrays these troubled, lost souled, sarcastic, and fiercely intelligent women... Loved this movie and recommend it to a smart viewer with a yen for stories about matters of the heart...

I really enjoyed "Lovely and Amazing", especially the character portrayed by Raven Goodwin. There are few films in which each actor is remembered for her personal scar, whether emotional or physical. It's everyday life and the worst possible scenario at the same time. See this film!

Endearing, but a little boring.
