I watched this in Social class. It was ok. I got to see cut version of this though, it was an alright movie. You probably wouldn't get it if you didn't know much about the Roman Inquisition.

Besides Shirley Temple movies, The Name of the Rose is my all time favorite movie. The setting, the characters, and the acting is outstanding. The idea of having a murder mystery set in a medieval monastery is pure magic. The only aspect I don't like about this movie is the graphic sex scene they put in their when Christian Slater's character falls in love with the peasant girl. My favorite part of the movie is when the villagers push the head inquisitor Bernardo Gui off the cliff and he falls on a bed of spikes. In my opinion the whole inquisition should be at the bottom of a ravine with spokes sticking through him.

Hey im old and I would like to say that this is an awesome movie man!! Especially the bit where the pig gets killed and where the fat guy is drowning! And the people that are gettin the lettuce from the hill and that ratty girl is so cool! Anyway I need to go see it again becuz I t kinda rules man : S byez.

It's just amazing! So well-done! It's one of the finest suspense-drama movies I've ever seen! I know it by heart! My brother and I go crazy about this movie and know every single dialogue line of each character! You may think we're crazy, but it's because a perfect movie deserves to be recognized and learned. This is obviously one of my top 5 favorite movies.
