The Godfather is one of the greatest classics of all time, but is not one of the best pictures ever made! For those who are younger than 21 may not find this very entertaining, I am, but I knew what to expect. It is definitely very slow, and was excruciatingly painful to withstand at times. But as a younger man I guess I just didn’t understand. The development had an outstanding tone; it wasn’t full of violence though. I would say it’s just a Drama because there is a lot of blood (which in today’s standard is laughably fake, yet in that day, extremely realistic) in the end, which had several disturbing deaths. But whenever a person was shot, it took at least 20 bullets to kill somebody. When Don Clorleone was shot, he was shot about 15 times and still survived. But they really took their time in the build-up when Don was in the hospital. In this hour it showed a lot of understanding of each character. The last hour is the most important though, for the series it sets up the very next film. But one flaw was when Michael Clorleone shot the Police Officer. He shot him in the head, isn’t dead yet. Shoots him in the neck, blood everywhere. There he goes smashing his head on the table. That was unusually a noticeable flaw, yet everything else was great. It’s not really entertaining, but it’s enjoyable with a true sustained pace throughout the entire film. It had great direction, good writing, good acting, and overall a top notch movie. Despite all it’s flaws, it’s excellent.

Simply put the greatest motion picture of all time. Marlon Brando shows why he is classified the greatest actor ever and the rest of the cast is mind blowingly above great as well. A 10 does not do this movie justice, it should be a 20.

They just don't make movies like this anymore. I can see how someone COULD be bored with the movie, but you still can't deny the quality of the characterization and the incredible, memorable, legendary acting. Just look at the Oscar nominations.
