This film is a piece of cinematic brilliance, Ron Howard's direction from the Thomas Eidson book was very good. Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett (Go the Aussie's) at the least deserved a Oscar Nomanation. The supporting cast in Evan Rachel Wood, Aaron Eckhart and that Creepy Witch Doctor, were acted beautifully. The Script was very good and would have taken along time to re-invent the old indian language. All on all, minus the gore, this is a very good and old-fashioned western, that will keep you on your seat and keep you thrilled for the whole two hours. Enjoy.

It wasn't bad, but being an average north American teen my atention span isn't very big, and I was easily bored with the first hour.

The only intriguing thing about this movie is the surprisingly evil Indian sorcerer. A very scary caracter... the rest of the movie is boring and pointless.

I thought this movie was Ron Howard's lame attempt at a western. Seemed very long and somewhat laborious. Nearly every scene was filmed behind or near a fence or obstruction (weird cinamatography) Good bad guy though.
