It was great watching it... a revolutionary junk-art which I think opens mor idea to conservative and traditionally-sticked people.

Felicitation Julia!!

I liked the parcipation of some actors... But, I really don't like Julia Roberts, 'cause I think she's always a bitch! Always showing her up. But the film is not too bad... I liked Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julia Stiles, and Kirsten Dunst... great act! I enjoyed the message of the film and I guess the film have great parts...

Wow, what a great role for Julia Roberts. Mona Lisa Smile. Can you think of another actress for which this title would be better suited. The character play of Kirsten Dunst is absolutely magnificient and it was a hard chracter to play nevertheless. The movie as a whole is upsetting and the actual value it brings in terms of conveying the message it tries to bring it sort of let down by the conclusion. It's nice and means well by showing a voice for women in the 50's but somthing is missing for it to be a truly wonderfull movie. It just seems like the bond between her and her students is more dramatized on screen than is developped and there is a lack of involvement of the viewer in bridging the gap between this incredible influence the woman had onher students and the extent of which is seen on screen. An enjoyable movie nevertheless.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
I had a lot of fun watching this movie. It is not a chick flick. It is a movie about a woman's college, dominated by woman roles, and the characters do have romances, but this is still not a chick flick. It's an historical dramadey, that realistically doesn't end with three marriages. The story ends happily and emotionally, but not sappily without the "guy gets the girl, " scenario. And although Julia Roberts is a superstar, she does a great job with her role in the movie and does not overshadow the other promising leading ladies, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julia Stiles, and Kirsten Dunst. Newcomer Ginnifer Goodwin doesn't get as much recognition as the other girls, but she is a scene stealer. It was easy to get attached to her character Connie. And for those worried about the feminist themes in this movie, they were dealt very nicely, no shoving it in your face. Of course it was set to the 1950's emerging roles of women, but more importantly it was an exploration of these character's lives. A great job by Mike Newell, I can't wait to see what he does with "The Goblet of Fire.".

I really think it was a movie that showed the viewer "to be true to themselves". Tradition was so entrenched in this movie. The school should have been a "finishing school" not a "college". Old belief systems don't die easily. I felt her claustrophobic feelings and unfortunately her boyfriend got the fall out. The social status was portrayed very well..

I was greatly disapointed. I went into it with a very positive attitude expecting great things... I mean, really, with a cast including Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, Julia Stiles, and Maggie Gylenhall... why wouldn't I expect good things. It was a total waste of my time and money. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone.

This is a great movie, I think without Julia Roberts it wouldn't be as great, but I think it's a great story and it carries a powerful message.

Good thing I only paid $6.00 to see this flick, or I'd be sick... Bland acting, except for supporting cast, Julia Roberts is the same in every role, and could they at least have attempted to have her hair style suit the genre? AND Who does the 'Mona Lisa' reference refer to? Julia Robert's mouth is the size of the whole canvas. More like "Mona Lisa Pukes on Film".

A fine portrayal of women's issues (basically for women of means/education) in the mid 50's. Excellent acting.

Wonderful Movie! It carries a very powerful message. The plot is thick and twisted, the different actress's and actors were wonderful. Go see it now! Preferably with some female friends. And to guys, you might not like it but thats ok- it wasn't directed at you in the first place. Don't take offence to that- it was a joke.

Not at all as good as I thought it would be. Not much of a story line to it. It's kinda cute, but nothing really happens at all. Really disappointing as far as chick flicks go.
