This yawner left me wondering if Peirce can act. The documentaries I have seen on the topic where way better and more interesting.

It was a good movie, I thought, with some very good scenes. It left me wanting to learn more about the real life Grey Owl.

It's a good history, but the movie does not have quality, the interpretations of the actors are really bad, they do not show the fellings of the true indian nostalgy, there is no action, and the image quality is quite poor.

Really dissappointing. I am quite intimate with the Grey Owl story, and was quite interested in developing a film myself, therefore I was looking forward to the film. Richard Attenborough is a great filmmaker in his own right, but NOT suited for this story. Neither was Pierce Brosnan. Most of "the message" of Grey Owl's story was lost or made trite by the vacuous dialogue and pedestrian shooting. Maybe we should wait 10 years and do a remake, though this dud might have nixed any chance of investment on that idea.

I bet you will never forget the beautiful scenery and great stars of this movie. This is a very positive movie and full of good human natures. I felt life was so beautiful after I left the cinema. Good movie, and deserves to see.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Left the movie extremely irritated. The plot was too thin: One minute Grey Owl is killing beavers, next he is peting them. One minute he wants Pony out of his life, next he is making love to her. Pierce Brosnan was struggling too hard to leave James Bond behind. Annie Galipeau was simply irritating. Speaking with a hot potato in her mouth, using wisecracking lines like "Do I have to do all the loving and the leaving?" Lousy actress! Finally Richard Attenborough. He is too old for the job. Its not enough to show a duck family frolicking in clear water. Whee was Grey Owls inner conflict? He was a fake, a bigamist and an alcoholic? Where did we really FEEL his love for the woods and the indians? The movie picked up as soon as Galipeau was out of the picture. Best scene: the big council of the chiefs, splendid: Sioux Chief Floyd Crow Westerman (known from Dances with Wolves). Short: More chances missed to a. spread the message of a threatened environment, b. place Quebec as a travel destination.
