Death Bed: The Bed that Eats

Year 1977
Length 1:17
Director George Barry

Discoveries don't get any more radical than this one. A wooden four poster bed, fashioned by a demon to seduce a beautiful girl, becomes the manifestation of all his rage and grief after she is killed during their sexual congress. The narrative isn't just delirious, it's demented with a subversive & hypnotic, visual style. This fascinating film doesn't compare with anything else in exploitation. For this reason it scared off even the grimiest of distributors, becoming the stuff of whispered legend. This is all beginning to change, as director Barry's sole 16mm release print has at last resurfaced and is currently making waves on the festival circuit. See for yourself and make it a priority.
