I thought the story was decent but it was way to long and boring for me, there should have been more action.

First of all, I was amazed to see that Pitt really got developed for this movie and was well casted as Achilles. As an epic genre blockbuster it has all the big scenes and is done well. I think Bloom was not properly casted although he does the "job". It's story doesn't bring the audience into an emotional involvement as it relies too much on grandeur. Definitely a big screen only movie.

This movie was as close a depiction of the time of the fall of the city of Troy as one could expect to see in a movie. The battle scenes were truly awesome... A must see movie.

Amazing movie, great actors, Brad Pitt's best performance of all times. Eric Bana at the top of his acting abilities delivers a breath taking performance. A definite must see!

I liked it but something is missing in that movie... but I still like the story and the big battle. Good to see if you never seen it.

Epic scenes, a real sense of the historical period. I learned, by visual impact, what 'fight like a Trojan' really meant. Pretty impressive. However, no 10 rating for me as I really don't need extended gore-glorifying battle scenes. They could have saved some time there. But, if you want an inspiration to learn more about lliad, this could do it!

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I hope we can do re-reviews here. An interesting idea if you watch the movie again later on and have a new perspective. I loved many of Brad Pitt's touches to his character in the movie. It gave more power in his role as being a violence oriented slaying machine, who has a capability of self restraint, with a touch of mercy and a brain, rather than a mindless guffawing thug. I especially liked his subtle looking to the skies when his mother announces he'll be remembered for eternity, and when he ushers of Hector with a 'pssst'. Patroclus was a very interesting character... showing how mindless young men easily/naively/ignorantly allow themselves to fight in wars based on the foolish whims of their countries leaders. Watching the duel scene again and again reveals some poor edit cutting but shows the intense training Pitt and Bana did to pull of a flowingly skillful and full force combat to the death. My only true criticism is that the timeline was too scrunched up and way too many inaccurate fates of characters compared to the classic tale. Spending $200 million on a movie could allow for some creative way of being closer to the true story. But a joy to watch... as someone mentioned, you won't fall asleep in this well paced movie.

I can see that adolescents greatly appreciated this movie for the action and the beauty of the actors. As for me I think Pitt was disappointing whereas Bana delivered a wonderful performance. Great battle scenes as expected, but the 2 hour movie fails to capture all that Homer put in his work. The end was disappointing. Anyway, the mythology tells us that the descendants of Aeneas who escaped Troy are founders of Rome. Talk about vengeance against the Greek.

Eric Bana, who plays Hektor, is gorgeous. He plays his part in this movie. Just gorgeous! I don't really like mideival movies, but this one was off the hook. Eric needs to get more roles in movies, because he can act. With |
