One of the best films I have ever experienced. A masterful piece of art. There are moments in the film that are magical. A complete experince. I find myself thinking about the film a lot and it's been over a month since I last watched it. Sure, it may be on the slow side... but your not watching this film for action. It's about something entierly different. The directed has created something truelly special. A must see for anyone that knows anything about films.

This movie is great and reminds me Red Desert by Michelangelo Antonioni. This is about reel life without action. Also about loneliness.

If you want to torture yourself, this is the movie for you! Long and without any action, the seconds drag into minutes without any real development. Time is better of spent sleeping through this movie than watching the non-action on the screen.

A prize-winning movie from the Cannes Film Festival, 2003. Urban / rural origin life values and conflicts, and emotional stress of an intellectual man, who is struggling in these changing values of the urban life is very well described. I really liked the photography..

Very well filmed and not a hollywood formula movie, good performances, a refreshing change.

If you feel like going into a black hole and never leaving it, this is the movie for you. You won't learn much, except that despair is in the heart of certain people who refuse to have plans to change their boring lives as they continue to keep clinging to nothing. The characters never really communicate between each other, they appear paralyzed in their heart, soul and bodies. There is no love, no caring, no compassion but total dislocation from society. Sad indeed. Thank God, I was able to talk with some Turkish people after the movie who painted a more lively picture of Istanbul and its people... and said the men are not all ugly like the ones who played the main characters. Pheew!!! Of course, I personally can't understand facial hair on any men's face... that's beside the point. Unless you want to feel depressed, don't bother.
