If they ever invent a machine that can erase traumatic events from one's life I think I will have to sign up to have this dung heap of a movie wash from my memory. The thing that keeps me up a night is wondering how I struggle to pay the mortgage (probaly cause I pay for bad movies) while studios continue to give Uwe Boll money. Is he related to a high ranking executive in one of the studios? As for the movie, there is absolutely nothing redeeming about this film. Bad acting, bad directing, terrible story, and sub-par special effects. Even an impromptu MST3K commentary could not save this movie. Do as the ratings says, avoid at all costs.

I'm glad I went with a friend who had free passes... or I'd be more annoyed. It reminds me of a combination of every cheap supposedly scary movie they make these days. Lack of originality. Lack of jumpy moments. Lack of even impressing me with anything visual, and that isn't important to me anyway. I slept through probably 75% of it and got a stiff neck.

Besides from a weak ending, this movie was overall pretty good. It looked to me like maybe they were not sure how to end the story which was spinning more and more out of control, so they just kind of gave up. I think Tara Reid was a poor choice for the character she played, fortunatly, Christian Slater did his charater justice.

Christian Slater played a good part in this movie hadn't seen him in any movies lately however I still believe that it is a video night type of movie. This movie reminded me of Godzilla with a sequel to come...

What I am wondering is why can't I give this movie a 0? This was the worst movie I have ever seen. I only recommend this movie to people who want to see the worst movie ever made. Why didn't this go straight to video?

Me and my friends went to see this movie the opening night and we were excited thinking it was going to be scary. Well we were wrong! We would have left but we already paid and the two main guys in it were hot. I would say if u are really into scary movies and you love to be scared this isn't a movie to go to.

The movie was horrible, I was contemplating on walking out. I think that the story was bad and the actors were even worse. My advice would be not to waste 10$ on such a stupid movie, thankgod I was on a date and didn't have to pay for that crap.

It's a so so movie, the idea was good, the actors were ok for some good for other, the movie was good until the half of it, not because of the story, but the effect they tried to use in this story, there's a shooting scene who, s suposse to be extra hot, with lots of flash and stuff, I found that scene amusing its was LAME, so lame. And some stuff at the end too doesnt make sense like a radio control explosive in a mine and stuff like that. Anyway, its an ok movie no more no less, I saw it one time, I won't see it an other time that's for sure, im full for life:)

Despite the fact that the movie tends to poke fun at itself and its genre this really was a waste of money. I would strongly recommend avoiding it at all costs.

I wasn't especially impressed by this movie, it could have been done so much better, even if the story was fairly predictable. Not completely terrible, but still a waste of money if you paid to see it. Maybe a decent rental if you've seen every other good movie.

[...] An alone in the dark movie couldnt have been made better! Christian Slater was great in the movie and I hope this means he will be playing in more movies now. I read all these reviews and went to the movie anyway giving it a fair chance because I never trust what people say( especially if they go for a 1/10, because thats just silly) And I really enjoyed it. Im really lookin forward to Uwe Bollès upcoming movie Blood Rayne, [...]

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I've never given a movie this sort of rating before in my life, but this one definitely deserves it. For anyone who actually thinks this is a good movie, they have very low standards! I'm a girl who loves action movies more than any other types of movies, can see a movie and go: "whatever, it's a popcorn movie type, let's just suspend belief for a couple of hours" but this one really beats anything I've ever seen. It's such a horrible, crappy movie, I can't believe Christian Slater accepted to do this! The only saving grace, the effects are good, if you can accept that they are a non-original cross between Alien and any other creature with 4 legs. Please don't even rent this at home unless you've seen everything else in the store and you're terribly bored and want to dissect a movie for all it's unrealistic plot holes.
