I thought it was very well made and well worth my time. I enjoy watching docs and reading books on WWII and this film helped me put a face on the men I've been reading about.

A harsh, multi-faceted, intricate, and comprehensive look at the last days of the Third Reich. This film is so fascinating! It's also lovely to watch. Beautifully shot, supremely well-acted, historically accurate, human, alive, gripping, and best of all, shot entirely in German. The effect is spectacular and the language really adds to the viewer's experience of that time and place. I recommend this to everyone, except those who don't have the patience to pay attention for three hours AND read subtitles while doing it.

Downfall was to adolf hitler what the pianist was to the struggling to survive jew during the later part of world world two. The protrayal of adolf hitler so intimately was magnificient, especially since it is in accordance with what I have read about the fuhrer. A very very passionate character. But this picture portrays differenet aspects of him some of which eventually lead to his downfall. An amazing picture.
