I HAVE to give it an 8 because... Well it's Miyazaki! He's just awesome! But um... well story-wise maybe it deserves a 7. For some reason I was expecting so much more after Spirited Away (which blew me away) There were some long moments... true. But it's just the romance part was a little... odd. It got a little too cheesy and I guess I wasn't used to that, especially concerning Hayao Miyazaki. It's still worth seeing though. Beautiful scenery.

For all those who love animation, this is the best film ever made! It make a lot of difference from the boring digital Disney movies. The story is very original, well illustrated and simply spellbinding! A must see for anime otakus and animation fans! Miyazaki's best after Nausicaä and the Valley of the Wind! ^^.

I've seen Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, and now I've seen another masterpiece by Miyazaki. This movie was great and I can't wait to see the other ones. I loved it. Go see it.

I was looking forward to this movie when I saw the trailers in April. I was kinda iffy on seeing it in English but... I adored it. I loved the story line and even though the movie was two hours long it really didn't feel like it. Sure it left you hanging on a few things but many asian films do that anyways. It was funny and it didn't drag at all. It's funny and at times really serious and even sad. Howl was adorable and really funny and the old lady version of Sophie was a really lovable character.

Like all Miyazaki films, Howl's Moving Castle takes you to a far away land with crazy creatures and lovable characters.

Visually stunning, yet the story is not as interesting as Spirited Away. Nevertheless, it has been a while since there has been a good Anime, worth seeing, especially on the big screen.

Terrific movie - a little too long (like Spirited away) but great imagination.

Miyazaki continues to create incredible worlds, with a mix of magic, history, and futurism. His secondary characters almost steal the show with their unusual design. The artwork is just beautiful and the story is enchanting. Go see it now matter what your age.

I loved this when I watched this movie in Japan. I haven't watch it in English yet. I hope it wouldn't be different like Spirited away or Laputa.

Not one of miyazaki's masterpieces but the fantasy was enough to keep me thoroughly entertained. There were few twists and turns, and the ending seemed a weak throw-together. Still, we love studio ghibli!

This was one of the best movie I ever saw. Hayao Miyazaki did a great jod directing this movie. The anime is stunningly beautiful and the acting is incredible. Not to mention that following the rythme of a japennese anime is extremely hard because the japannnese talk very fast. I strongly recommend this movie along with the two other masterpieces by Hayao Miyazaki, Spirited Away & Princess Mononoke. GO SEE IT NOW!!! ^_^.

Howls Moving Castle is vastly entertaining, full of just about everything. Thoughtful messages; if you are interested in history, mythology and how we think, this film is for you. Funny, light hearted even in the face of evil, complex but well told, full of metaphors. Obvious reference to our history of wars, but the war machines are whimsical or even silly without playing down their horrible intent. Death and dying are figurative but danger and evil are real, as are trust, innocence, and forgiveness. Adults will enjoy it, but there is a message for the mature among us of all ages that denial ages us, makes us feel pain, makes us feel old, while trust and wonder make us youthful, make us experience beauty. A glimpse, a disturbing suggestion of how powerful people entertain themselves, relevant to today. Duty and loyalty are very evident, reflecting the land of origin and its history (Japan) But the fanciful and funny are always nearby, even in the most serious parts. The castle has a fascinating dial-a-world gadget, a new twist on the transformational and magical. The fate of the witch is to grow up and experience truth which includes her humanity, and we find out that we can have both heart and energy. See it!

You want to see a very different cartoon, Howl's Moving Castle is for you. This is Disney Japan, the same that made the academy winner «Spirited Away». Do not miss!
