It was a horrible musical. I wouldn't watch it again, yet I'm glad to have seen it, to know how bad it was. Despite the awful music, the story wasn't completely bad. The ending actually made me cry.

It was absolutely amazing. Costumes and decors made this visually beautiful, and somehow you can't think of this movie without its soundtrack. It's like a mix of different eras coming together to form one unique sound. Nicole Kidman's doesn't have the best vocals, but her rendition is very emotional and vulnerable. Ewan McGregor's version of "Your Song" (one of the most beautiful love songs in history in my opinion) and the amazing tango are two of the highlights of this movie.

Probably one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. Baz entwines current music into the 1900 timeline wonderfully, and Ewan MacGreggor has a great voice. Highly recommended to anyone that likes a love story and music rolled into one great package.

I LOVE this movie. I've seen it at least 10 times & listen to the soundtrack regularily. It is truly different than any other movie I've seen. It's been too long since we've had a truly inspired musical & that is what this movie is. It's touching & pulls you into the love story. I laughed, I cried... I loved it!

To the people who loved this movie- I could not agree more, it is the best movie about love and sacrefice I have ever seen. Not to mention the music and decor are origional and compliment the story so well. Nicole and Ewan do a great job singing even though they are NOT profecional singers. THe special effects are stupendous. John Leguizamo does a great job at acting a midget, being on his knees for the entire of the movie. I was also impressed with how music we all know (dimond, virgin, and the elephant medly wich is full of songs)was incorporated into the film, this makes it fun for the viewer to sing along and get really attashed to the characters. Now to the people who did not like the movie-?

This movie is truely a masterpiece. The first time I saw it I didn't really get it and fell asleep and didn't like it, but when I watched it a second time I fell in love with it, I watched it everytime I had the tv on, and this is my favourite movie. It has a sad ending :(, other then that the music fit in well with the movie and so did the actors and costumes. To all the people that gave this movie a bad rating, I would have to say you didnt like it because you truely have no heart and cannot get into the movie because you don't understand love. Take a look at 90% of the ratings they are 10/10 which is truely what this movie deserves!

I simply loved this movie, it's my favourite. The way it's been filmed, the way it's been performed, the music, above all else... I consider it to be a representative of the better part of modern culture. If you haven't done so already, you should definitely see this film.

This is most likely my favourite movie that's ever been made. Now, I'm one of those ppl who just love love stories. But this movie, it had so much passion, desire. It is a beautiful movie and not enough words can describe the way it makes you feel. It's like once it starts, reality's gone, and your suddenly in a world of lights, costumes and music. The romance between Satine (Nichole) and Christian (Ewan) is magical. To know that they love eachother so much, that they would be willing to risk their lives for eachother. Well anyway to get to the main point if you haven't seen this movie yet get to the movie store, rent it, grab some popcorn and watch it.

Moulin Rouge" glitters with such bold decisions. It is a sumptuous feast for ear and eye featuring gorgeous costumes, intricate sets (Nicole Kidman's boudoir in a gigantic elephant is a case in point), and outlandishly choreographed dance numbers are paraded with frenetic relish. And the music, the MUSIC! As you probably know by now, Luhrmann has thrown into his period piece a collage of musical snippets from, among many bits, "The Sound of Music, " Madonna, The Police, and Elton John. In most cases, no one song gets performed without intersplicing. Witness Luhrmann's audacity: the opening number includes a melding of Labelle's "Lady Marmalade" with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." And here's the spooky part: it works..

This movie is for serious cinema lovers only. The genius, named baz luhrmann, is the man responsible for single-handedly reviving the operetta/musical genre on the big screen, and the most under-rated director of the past 20 years. His exquisite masterpiece was practicly sidelined at many awards shows, and a horrendous uninspired unimaginative unoriginal excuse of a musical named chicago garnered so many awards especially best movie of the year at the oscars a year later!!! This world is not fair... watch this movie with an open mind. Listen to me. Every element in this movie is woven so tightly and neatly yet it still feels free and refreshing (no matter how many times you see it) I can't explain this. A mix of old and new, beautiful and ugly, rich and poor, good and bad, this movie has it all in well balanced proportions. The music is very appropriate. You'll notice quite a few oldies-but-goodies being used and you'll be happy you can sing along. There are also some oldies that you've never heard before and you'll bang your head for not knowing them. I can go on and on about moulin rouge, but I won't anymore. I'll let you experience it for yourselves. Enjoy and be converted!

The songs are wonderful, the story is so touching, the costumes are fab, the actors are absolutely amazing ( well done Nicole Kidman & Ewan Mc Gregor ), the director did a wonderful job ( you're great Baz Luhrmann! ) and the most I can give is 10/10!!! Personnally, I would give much more. The film is great, and I advise all girls aged 13-17 to watch the film, go on this website and put 10/10 [...] and maybe the film won't have generally 8.7/10!!! In general, it's a great film!!!

Can I say something? This film is the greatest film I've EVER seen in all my life... Is just... wow... when you're watching you just stop everything you're doing and go more close to the television... Its so beautiful and charming... Nicole playing Satine with her beauty and her perfect act... Ewan (the most handsome and cute guy in the world)playing Christian with his perfect voice and love. Just perfect... The most wonderful film in the cinema story.
