Great movie. So dramatic. I loved it. If some people don't like it. Who cares? At least I do.

So bad even Roger Ebert gave it a D. I would leave after the First ten minutes and get a ticket for something else as the whole movie stops being funny except for the RARE Tim Roth apperances.

As in all Wenders movies the visuals are great. In a Wenders' movie the background scenes and sets are just as telling as the characters - some people may overlook this. I like how Wenders has cast Eva Mary Saint. She harbours a fugitive, in this case her son, and she protects him by lying to an investigator looking for her son - this to me, is reminiscent of her role in Hitchcock's North by Northwest - also, the car she gives away to her son is an old 50s car painted turqoise green, the same color Hitchcock often chose for cars in his 50s movies (e.g. Vertigo) Some of the acting is a bit over the top - especially the movie actor's estranged son. But all in all, it was a treat! Go see it..

We reconize Wim Weber here by all the "in your mind style" of the movie even if all that is a dream it was very pleasant to watch.

Nominated at cannes and sundance but not a winner. Good idea for a story. Weak script and direction.

Despite a rather slow pace, this film is quite a bit better than what the critics say. While none of the acting performances really stand out, there were no weak performances (even Sarah Polley put in a halfway decent effort), although one can say that Tim Roth was under-untilized. Still, a fairly good film at a time when the pickings are slim.
