Interesting take on the historical figure. I particularly like the way Sofia Coppola uses modern music as a back drop. It shows a side of Marie Antionette that most don't think of, more of a sympathetic view rather than a callous portrayal of the famous "let them eat cake".

A few corrections should be made: Genre: Boring Rating: PG Parents: not only your child but YOU might fall asleep as well Length: too long Plot: There's a plot? This is no joke. They even took out the scene where she is beheaded. Why do I give it a 1? I would rate this movie a 0/10 if it was not for the good use of costumes and cinematography.

Wow... I think thats all I can really say. Not even a good 'wow'. I researched this topic before I watched it and compared to what REALLY happened, this was totally off-topic. Kirsten Dunst can't act to save her life and definitely can't do a role like this. This might sound bad, but Marie Antoinette's life was tragic, and this movie didn't broadcast that enough. I loved the outfits. That was the only part of the movie I SLIGHTLY enjoyed!

Beautiful, lyrical, young, mature, frivolous, grave, lavish. A lovely summary of Antonia Fraser's intricate and accurate biography on Marie-Antoinette. To those who found it dull to watch M-A lounge and dream and fret and spend: such was her life, and as historical truth, it merits consideration. If you're an action-lover or horror junkie, skip the historical dramas and skip all of Sofia Coppola's work.

The set & costume design are both very well done, the story as a little trouble staying focused not everything is drawn out well, the music gives it more of a modern day feel.
