This was basically a nostalgia film for people too young to be jaded by nostalgia films. It was one long series of tired, shopworn clichés and god-awful cameos, held together by loud noises and computer graphics. The plot was ghastly and most of the actors really should reconsider their line of work. That being said, this ain’t Shakespeare. I suppose you really can’t go to a movie about cars that turn into alien robots and then complain because it’s silly. It’s not as if it could have been anything else. It’s just that if they had left 1/3 of it on the cutting room floor they could have had a 50% better movie. If you like to stare at shiny objects, then you probably don’t have anything better to do than watch Transformers.
