I would say it's a great film because it's different from all the hindi movies and it's reality... but I guess some people don't like to see reality in a film... and I think it's the best film karan johar made...

One more thing... How can karan johar miss this? The movie starts and Shahrukh's kid is 8 years old. Then 3 years pass and Shahrukh kid's still the same height and age! Then when Abhishek gets married to this white girl and Shahrukh and Rani reunite... The freagin' kid's still the SAME! Poor casting and editing!

Great movie. The story was nice with some funny parts, the scenery was beautiful so where songs. I watch it over and over again. The actors and actresses where great together. It touched all my emotions I am sure glad I had my box of kleenex.

It's a mahan bakwas movie, I never seen like this bad movie in my life. Don't waste your money and time like this unusual relationship movie. After Boom its Amitab's roll is very very very cheap... oh crap... Bakwas johar.

It is an unusual story. (of course, in tne context of Indian culture) Seldom it happens in India. In a word, you can say "Western culture intruded into Indian culture, because the characters are dwelling in New York City".

Finally a movie that is not about regurgitating the same old, same-old! It was refreshing to see well-behaved, mature people struggling with real-life issues of relationships. (Amitabh Bachan gave a fantastic performacne despite the sexist stereotypes and nonsense sexual overtures at young white women) The reason most South Asians dont like this film is that it hits too close to home and maybe forces them to think and not just recieve passively which is the norm. Abhishek has outdone himself and Sahahruk is very convincing as a not-so-nice guy that is bitter and dissatisfied with the blow life has dealth him. Really important film for sexuality, for marriage, for relationships and for the idea that there is a possibility of getting out of an unhappy relationship.

How couldn't be great when you have Amitabh Bachchan & Shahrukh Khan play in it. Amitabh was funny and it was my first time seeing him as a playboy type of guy and why shouldn't he be... Shahrukh was great too, I would have like to see him dancing and singing more but he played very good. The story line was different for Indian movies (an affair) now that was different... I really enjoyed it and I would see it again...

This was one of the first Bollywood films I have seen and I loved it. Interesting story, it was truly hard to know how it would end at some points. The filmography and direction was amazing. I loved the colours (not to mention the sets and clothes were amazing. ) The cast was fantastic and totally enjoyable to watch. The soundtrack was beautiful. The film was sad, happy, romantic, and funny. It comprised of many different styles and contained a multitude of emotions which made the film interesting. It was a long film but engrossing enough I didn't glance at my watch until about 1/2 hour before it ended (the ending dragged just a bit) Overall very nice movie. Interestingly I went wiht a group of friends: two girls and two guys, and the guys were completely lost in the story, which I think is rare for guys at romantic movies. (My guy friend mentioned that he fell asleep during Lord of the Rings but he was wide awake throughout this one! ) Overall a must see for any romantic who loves a beautiful movie, a beautiful soundtrack, and non-Hollywood films!

Not that gr8. Basically after watching the promos the whole movie becomes predictable so I found it rather boring. Still, the funny parts n outfits r worth watching 4. SRK looks older in this movie. U can c the effects of smoking n age on his face now but Abhishek looks awesome. Amitab & Kiron Kher did a fantastic job as always.

I hate tacky love movies. I really like this one. This movie has many many styles. It's not a musical athough many narative expressions of the actors are translated into song lirics filmed "à la" music video. Some of those parts can be long. I found many camera movements and close-ups to resemble the style of capturing the emotion of a soap. But it's way too funny to be one. Some scenes could even be considered slapstick humor. Very interesting mix of technique and styles, many type of people will appreciate.

Oh my god... what a crap... what a waste of money. The story line is so weak... I am still wondering wat was the cause for Rani and SRK to cheat on their life-partners. There was no concrete reason as to why anybody in Rani's place would want to leave such a great hubby (AB) Anyways... :((( a great disappointment but Abhishek Bacchan was great!!!

It wasnt as great as I had expected. Good acting by Abhishek Rani n Preity. Its funny at some parts. However, I did not like the ending it was a typical bollywood ending: everyone is happy. With a movie like this the ending sucked. Abhishek looks awesomee!! John abraham makes a special appearance and looks HOTT! Anywwayss It is a alright movie but a bit too long.

I waited so long just to see this!!! It is not really suitable for young audience and it wasn't really a family movie. Rani's sarees were the best and the songs were good not bad. Some dirty jokes and the ending is just bullshit. Not worth of watching but u can see it if u like any of your favorite stars.

Watching the movie was an absolute disappointment, instead of relaxing watching a movie one tends to get extremely depressed while watching this movie. The story was very weak as compared with the other karan johar movies and Amitabh Bachan has ridiculed himself as this character didn't suit him and the dialogues givein to him were the worst, as Rani character was a complete disaster in this movie because that character is looking for a true love which is supposed to be honest. Overall the movie is not worth spending your money on.

It was great movie talking about issues not mostly dealt with in hindi movies shah rukh Khan steals the show the actors are at ther best karan johar proves that he is able to tackle complex and serious plots too. A must see.

It's a good movie and I liked it. I can see why some people don't like it and some do. It has a different theme from a lot of other Hindi movies I've seen and it gives out an important message. 3.5 hours was long! But I didn't mind it a bit. Great acting from Shahrukh (as always! ), Rani and Abhishek. Amitabhn was hillarious and I loved his role. Preity was good too but I didn't like her character, because I think it was one of the major causes of the main conflict in the movie. Well, then again, you need to have it for the movie. Very nice music too. I love all the songs! Worth seeing in the theatre. And I agree with the rating of 14A.

So here's the problem with this movie: We all waited with anticipation for it to finally come out and when it did, it was nothing but a big disappointment! If you look at all the great Bollywood hits, you'll see that they all have one thing in common:laughter, tears, a great love story and most important, good old indian culture and traditions. Unfortunatly, not only does this movie lack that infamous indian charm, but it's trying so hard to be comparable to Western films that it actually comes across cheap and inappropriate! Not only is is unsuitable for children, but it's actually the type of film that I would never watch with my parents! Abhishek is not doubt the shinning star in this film but sadly his father has done nothing but tarnish his reputation by portraying such a pimp of a character. And not only was it hard to sympathize with Rani and SRK's character since their partners really hadn't done them wrong, but their relationship did not come on screen as a convicing or passionate one. Overall, this movie was a huge failure but it certainly had the potential to be a great film with such a star cast. Unfortunately though, it just didn't live up to expectation.

I didn't like the storyline, it was so predictable, I was able to tell whats going to happen next. It's similar to many other indian movies, very similar to veer zaara, kal ho na ho... but the acting was alight, and Rani's sarees were nice, thats about it.

I think this movie was great! The dialogues and the acting by all characters was amazing! The concept of the movie was really different but still I loved it! The movie was really well done and it was so deep. I felt that at some point in your life, you may have felt like at least one of the characters in the movie. Overall, excellent and entertaining, I would definitely watch it again!

It was an entertaining movie. Some of the dialogue made me laugh out loud. I think if people stop judging this movie according to traditional indian values - they would enjoy it's fluff factor. There didn't seem to be any real chemistry btw srk and Rani - they both just seemed desperate.

It's a mixtuure of old srk movies... I name it first its kal ho na ho, , chalte chalte, , ddlj, , , nothing new and there was no point shooting this movie in new york... this kinda story also can be done in india but its only to create hype and show some good architecture in the movie thats y karan johar executed it in new york... but I m sorry it doesn't work for me and am sure for all of those people also who wants a good scripted good storyline movie not this big star cast which is good for nothing, , I think all teenage girls who are die hard fan of srk and Abhishek will like it cuz they dont belive in watching good movies they belive watching only srk... srk popularty is more like britney spears in u, s... no matter what srk do but he will be liked by all teenage group thats y I guess ppl giving it good rating other than that there is nothing to watch in this movie, , and if u see technically u put good money cast some big actors and take a normal story I m sure your movie will be a super duper hit and thats what this karan johar exactly do... he doesn't even know what a good intelegent cinema is..

Liked the concept but hated the ending! Some parts were really stupid n not even suitable for *adults*... as it really did promote that 'its ok to cheat on your wife/hubby to b with your *soulmate*..' thats just stupid... I always, always respected Amitabh... but not anymore I guess... I mean what the hell was that? U miss your dead wife sooo much that u sleep around with young chicks? Woah! N they totally ignored the lil boy... I mean an affair effects the whole family. N who suffers the most? The kids... do we see lil Arjun during all the crying n crap? No we dont... usually in all karan johar movies every single character including the tini tiny ones take my breath away... this time it was only n only Abhishek! Thats all. The rest, sucked! Including SRK... in some article I read 'Preity Zinta never cries n bla bla but when she watched the movie with the other cast n crew before they released the movie, she cried, coz the story is soo touching n her character is soo incredible'.. I say... pure crap! It would make more sense if u had said 'I have never done such a crappy character before in life, so I cried'.. the only good thing in the movie is Abhishek... n a few of Rani's sarees n the songs! Thats all... if u wanna spend 10 bucks for that plz go ahead... make sure u dont have kids with u n u have lots of food n drink... coz no matter how hard u try not to get mad n bored, eventually u will... n then u would wanna eat n drink survive... :D.

Its funny how Karan Johar was trying to make a film that was not the norm in Bollywood but as the movie went along he made it more and more like any Bollywood movie. The ending was a typical Bollywood ending where everyone is happy - eventhough the acting was great the storyline was not. And, also I go to see Bollywood movies because they are suppose to be Indian films with the Indian culture and values, if I wanted to see a Hollywood movie I could watch many. This movie was Tooo western and it didnt make a good Bollywood movie or even a good Hollywood movie. Karan Johar decide next time who you want your audience to be because you ended up not satisfying anyone..

I thought the first half was a drag, but eventually it all worked to bring out a masterpiece, characterstic of Karan johar movies. Modern North American, marital/family life theme-may offend the traditional Indian. But that's life here- isn't it?

I love these actors in other movies, but very disappointed in this film. Wasted 3 hours of my life. Sad story line. Waited months to see Shah Rukh Khan & Rani Mukherjee act together again. SORRY they had to come together in such a depressing film.
