I had a hard time rating this one. It doesn't belong in the company of other 7 quality movies, but it isn't as bad as a 6. It gets major bonus points for not trying to be serious and even makes fun of itself at moments. A good and original action comedy.

The worst of the worst movie! How can I tell how it was bad and cheap? Don't know... hateful! Put this movie in the garbage right now.

This is a bullet ballet of a movie - lots of humour lots of gore and incredible, totally unrealistic but fun to watch action. You need to send your critical thinking skills on holiday and just sit back and enjoy the action. Loved the use of carrots throughout the movie. As for Clive Owen, lets face it, he is at the junction where your wish list and to do list meet for a lot of women. :-)

This movie deserves to be shot up - pure junk. I love action movies but this is like one scene played over and over.

First off, the people that are saying that this movie is "unintelligent"," ridiculous" or that it has a "bad scenario" just didn't get it. The movie doesn't try to be the next "Lucky number Slevin" with a complex storyline. It's only an exaggerated action movie that contains irrealistic but unbelievable scenes of action that are meant to be very ORIGINAL and fun to watch. 300 is probably the most exaggerated movies ever, yet it's one of the best because of that. That's what amazing with movies : you can make the impossible and unimaginable happen, why not enjoy it? Bottom line : great action movie with comedy in between.

Simply one of the worst movies of all time. To like this piece of junk means your either a child or not intelligent. I know it's just a movie but for god sakes you must have a limit. Ridiculous in so many ways. I kept watching too see how much more ridiculous it can get and it didn't disappoint. Wow , junk.

C'mon everybody... with a movie called "Shoot 'Em Up," don't expect a lot of depth. If you want more contemplative fare... watch Million Dollar Baby. If you want non-stop action, blood, and gorgeous actors... watch Shoot 'Em Up. Great movie!!!

Very funny! This film is a goood time. Really corny BUT SELF-AWARE of its ridiculousness. (Not like an over-achieving B-movie that we laugh at & not with) From start to finish, every time that I've seen it, I've had a smile on my face. Love the bitter humour. Owen is a god, and Bellucci looks like a goddess. So funny!!! Just leave your ego's & unhappy moods at the door first!

I generally like Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti, but this whole movie stunk from the get-go. It should have been called 'last action hero 2'. this is the crap arnold would still be doing if he wasn't governor of california. Completely lame. I wouldn't even rent this.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] This is the worst film I have ever seen. I love both actors and thought they would be great together. What a disappointment. The script was awful, although we expected violence, there way too much, and it wasn't well done. The film was filled from start to finish with completely unbelievable scenes of the good guy avoiding gangs of armed men shooting automatic weapons at him, while he manages to shoot every last one of them. Oh yeah, while he was doing this he was holding onto a newborn baby. This movie stunk to high heaven. We didn't walk out but we should have.

I went to this movie thinking that it would be funny and different from the usual shoot em up or action movies, since it looked like that from the trailers. Of course I was very disappointed, because although I know that it was making fun of movies like this, it should have focused more on the jokes, than the brutal killing of almost everyone in this movie! In fact, this was such a bad movie, that it just turned me off to action movies altogether, and I have vowed to never see one again. The only two things that were good were when the credits started rolling, and Paul Giamatti's performance, since he's good in anything. Note to the director: Next time you make a movie like this, make it less gory and focused on guns and killing, and make it funnier, in the way that Pulp Fiction was funny.

An excellent film, have always looked forward to seeing Clive Owen or Paul Giamatti, but the two of them together is fatal. Action packed, no shortage of gore, and coincidentally hilarious, I loved it and I definitely give it my recommendation.

I have to agree with kkoekstat & chaplaintec: the movie shouldn't be listed as an Action/Thriller! If it was listed as an Action/Comedy I'd give my thumbs up, but under category they've defined it as - it was terrible! I like the comment: "Cannot understand how any actor would take a role in such a limp movie unless they are not bright or need the money. Don't even bother renting this when it comes out". What else needs to be said? You'll have more results of enjoyment sticking your finger down your throat to play with your uvula!

Tataatatatatata, ça canarde a souhait!

Horrible, horrible, awful movie. I wouldn't even recommend, think about watching this on cable in 20 years, only reason I went to it is because me and my girlfriend were late and it was the only one playing, we watched it for 25 minutes if that and left , everything else has been said , one liners and all , one word sh@#$y.

I've read all these comments and I really wonder if the people that thought it was stupid, saw a different movie. It was a great B Movie with a budget. I had great action, and everything that Smith did was "preped" before hand, so you weren't just thinking," oh jeez, how could he even jump through that window? He must be a super hero or something" How can you not know that it's going to be gory when it's 18A? Also, I kinda get where people are coming from with the lack of plot, but that's because everything isn't all wrapped up in a neat and tidy bow for them. This movie, like life is messy. But it's great fun for an Twenty-something audience. P. S- I only had to cover my eyes once and I can't stand anything too gory.

Big Action Fan! Big Action/Comedy Fan! However this was defined as an Action/Thriller Film - what a LAUGH! The guys th@ said this film is a 10 have got to be 13-14, in which case I can see why! It's not even a Rental - wait for it to come on regular cable if it ever makes it there! The CHeeZe is = to Big Arnold's Random One Liners but throughout the ENTIRE movie! -Awful! This movie is a lot of fun to watch. Performances from all the leads are good, particularly Owen and Giamatti. Sure, the action sequences far stretch any realm of reality - similar to Die Hard or James Bond films - but that just adds to the fun. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

This movie was the executed to perfection. It had everything a guy could want in a movie. This movie was similar to the movie Sin City so I was glad that the directors used one of the same characters to play in this one. The action and gun fighting parts were masterpeices on their own. They made it seem real (as real as it can get) and they didn't make it so that a hero kills everyone without a scratch. All of the acting was better than most movies. This doesn't use any corny movie lines so it relates it more to reality. This movie in its entirety was the best thing since LOTR.

If Quentin Tarantino ever made a feature-length Bugs Bunny movie, it would be just like this. It's silly and way over the top, but funny and visually wonderful. See it if you want to get amped up for the evening, and not have a single serious thought...

Okay Boys and Girls I am not sure if the people who are disapointed with this movie even looked at the title or poster. This was pure popcorn and pop, and I mean pop, pop, pop. To think that a great actor must always be in a film that is oscar worthy is nuts. This movie could have been sharpened in some areas, but for what it was produced for, it was pure fun. Remember when an actor signs on for a movie, they place trust in so many people, especially the director and producer. They have no idea how the movie will look in the end. They go on the script, which must have been a great fun ride. So losen up people, and if any thing be brave and not a pussy with a ticket.

An insulting bad film. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY SEEING THIS @$%! Infantile, terribly written, no jeopardy, character development (or characters for that matter) and badly shot. We left early glad to get away. Can't believe these great actors agreed to to this tripe.
