The acting was a bit lame, but the special effects were pretty good and the story relatively interesting.

I am a very big fan of Dragon Ball (Z, GT) The only thing that is similar between this and the series is the names of the characters... There was no need to change anything about the series. Akira Toriyama wrote the series and people enjoyed it. Changing Toriyama's work changed the whole story and ruined the feel of DragonBall. The movie seems like a parody more than anything. Important characters were missing, the acting was terrible, the costumes and special effects were also lacking. I am very disappointed, you will be too.

This show was good I always wondered how Goku came to be the super-sayan that he became and this clears that up nicley could have used a little more action but the action, drama, and comedy are satisfactory just the way they are. Picolo is cool a little fony looking but a good fighter and villain. All and all a good movie, a must see if you can find the time to do it go check it out.

I hate how the director choses the actor and how he modified the whole story. I agree piccolo was mean at the beginning, but Goku's grandpa didn't die like that and if was better to get an asian actor for Goku. Goku hair isn't that hard to do, the one you guys got is simply normal hair everyday. Low quality on that. What happened to Yamcha disciple, the cat that can transform into anything? The story is a total mess, America kill it. What a shame for a popular anime series. Kamehameha isn't like that too...

Ok guys, even if the movie wasn't suppose to look like the REAL DB , and you guys never even watched the show before, there is absolutely no reason to like this movie, the actors are simply terrible, the dialogue is trash, and the fighting scenes? Completely retarded, there isn't really any action its just constant slow motions... and oh yea... the special effects are crap too, the kamehameha looks more like dust.

Though not without moments this movie is bad. Cheap looking, cheap feeling and a final Battle that lasts two seconds. Anticlimactic. Follows the story? not at all... goku is white and living in a city, he goes to high school and has no tail. Crap...

Bad bad bad. Don't watch it, unless you want to encourage the producers to make more low-budget american movies about great japanese anime franchises, not giving crap about the fans. The negative critics are pretty much the ones you should care about, since they're all written by childhood fans of DBZ. The positive critics are left by either kids who don't know better, or people who have no idea what DB is. The only funny critic I've read from people who should know better, is about Goku supposed to be Asian. Well, he's from another planet, he's a saiyan... And there, they probably don't have a continent called Asia. So... lol?

Sucks hardcore. This movie was a complete waste of money and time. I will never get that time back adn I resent the stupid creators of this movie for making such a horrible gay unwanted movie. They should have left it for the CARTOONS.

It was horrible. The actors sucked, the effects were horribly done, a child with photoshop 2.0 could do better. The plot was missing and it was really just to absorb money form DB, DBZ, and DBGT fans. What a waste of money.

Acting, dialogue, effects, setting, and every conceivable part of this film was done atrociously. It's certainly a waste of money and obviously made to capitalize on the Dragon Ball franchise fans, to get the money of those thinking "it'll suck but I'll go anyway to see how it is, just because it's Dragon Ball." In the end, they still get your money.

If you watched Bragon Ball or DBZ or GT You will be very disapointed they are missing alot of details. If you never watched the show then go ahead and watch it it's not gtreat but it's not terrible.

The story is not good at least if they followed the real story but no they completely change it they Americanized it but the worst of all is that goku is not a saiyan! No! , Goku is a servant of piccolo he was brought to earth to serve him. That's totally not in the story for those who know well the real story. I understand that it's a movie and that things can change to not be too long or adapt to real world its just not same story they raped dragonball! Seriously if you can't make a good movie of dragonball don't make it!! It's a waste of money!

They ruined dragon ball... The title could have been anything else. The story... the caracters... they re not like the anime or manga, it's a total different thing. I waited so long for a dragon ball movie, and this is all we get after sooo many years... Transformers and ironman are good examples of cartoon to realife movies. Dragon ball evolution... great deception.

If you think the live action movie is going to be exactly like the manga and anime... sorry people but the spirit bomb and kamehameha are a little difficult to do even with today's special effects... idiots, so therefore, go lock yourselves in your rooms and cry like the babies you are and kiss your childhood goodbye.

Looking forward for a remake! Has nothing to do with the DB series... completely different crap. Only Marvel and DC comics are able to duplicate their superheroes into big sceens with success. It would be nice if they could take DB and make it!

A good movie they got the characters right although I had no idea who piccolo's henchgirl was... But they did extremely mess up the story and all that since Goku was a child when he met Bulma and at that time to he had a tail ooo and P. S to everyone out there GOKU IS NOT AN ASIAN NOR IS ANY OTHER CHARACTER AN ASIAN they are all white.

Long story short. If you enjoyed the dragon ball anime show and the DBZ one too then you will despise this movie for brutally destroying your beloved childhood dreams. If you never watched the anime and are 30+ oldie then you will probably find it action packed. Basically If you are a teenage boy dont go see this movie. 5-9 year olds: yes. 25-35 year olds: yes. Anyone who enjoyed the dragon ball shows: NO.

That was the best movie I have ever seen in my life. In fact, it was so truly fantastic that I couldn't stop laughing afterward. I would recommend this movie to everybody who loves comedies which are not supposed to be comedies:)

I knew nothing about the TV series or story lines before going into the movie. I enjoyed the action and thought it was a good story. The audience seemed to enjoy the movie as well, I think it was worth seeing on the big screen.

Worst movie of the decade. It barely looks like I was watching a dragon ball. The script was crap, the dialogues were worst then listening to a conversation with my 3 years old cousin. I slept during the end... If someone like it, please reply to this post and tell my WHY!!!

Great movie! Good for kids. I brought my 8 year old and he loved it. No swearing and some funny lines but enough action to keep everyone entertained. Leaves it open for a sequel. Excellent mix for the cast!! Definitely worth seeing the big screen.

This was a great movie, the actor of Goko wasn't that great but the girl who helped him (i forgot fer name) was great, even though I didn't watch the series it was still pretty understandable the plot wasn't that strong but it was good all and all (but not that scary:( )

Very nice movie, the action is great and everyone was applauded at the end of the movie. It's not easy to put the real book into an hour or two movie, sometime it may not understable for those who did not read the books, but I do appreciate the producer put dragonball into movie. Movie was crap... Had little to almost nothing similiar to the anime series. The dragon balls were made by picolos good side kami... Seriously bad movie... movie should of been named "Somewhat dragonabll" a disclaimer on the bottom of the title saying only names were taken from the cartoon series don't watch if your a fan.

You have to put yourself in the right context for this film. It is geared to children and anime fans alike. I thought they did a decent job. I was expecting a brutal massacre of what is a classic anime. It beats Elektra and Daredevil. What's that saying exactly? I'm not sure... worth seeing though.
