This movie I missed the point, nothing of interest happens, and attempts at humor are few and far between. I saw it on cheap movie night and still wish I hadn't wasted $5 and my wife's $5 and my friend's $5 an 2 hours of my time.

Witty, wry insight into a fractured world. Wonderful inspection of the human condition, through the eyes of a handful of all too realistic characters.

Loved it. Very original and funny weird. Frankly a refreashing breath of air from your usual plots. A must see for someone who likes to think and wants a change.

I loved this movie. It was hilarious and entertaining. References to eastern philosophy (what some call new age religion) is strongly present in the movie and it fits nicely. The Jedi warriors and the unfulfilled journalist are likable realistic characters. I also had a soft spot for the goats. The goats were terrific actors.

I really enjoyed the film. Reminded me of monty python sketches and such. I don't think you're supposed to see much depth in it, and that's what's amusing.

The all-star line-up holds its own, especially goat. Must have spent his whole life trying to play dead so accurately, million times better actor than that lame gerbil.

A must see for fans of The Big Lebowski, which I would rate a 10. There were only about a dozen people in the theatre and we were the only ones laughing. They just didn't get it. I don't get them.

I am all about clever satire, subtle witticisms, acerbic or dry humor; this had none of the aforementioned. All I can say is that there is one hour and thirty minutes of my life I am never going to get back.

I do not understand all the poor ratings for this movie!?!?! It was very entertaining, funny and far better than I thought it would be after reading reviews. I think that only the older "mature 30+" crowd will enjoy it. It is based on actual events and if you do not understand "new age" thinking then maybe you will not "get it".

Horrible story, not funny and bad acting. All it's about is hippies being high on LSD really.

Good movie, essential that the viewer engage it though. The ending was VERY open to interpretation, in other words, it went over my head.

Much better than expected based on the mixed reviews it got here. It's quirky, off the wall, and deliciously satirical. My friend and I both enjoyed it a lot.

I enjoyed this film precisely for its bizarre, quirky absurdity. The juxtaposition of the mad cowboy privilege of the central characters and their american adolescent army culture in contrast to the intense suffering, shock and incredulity of any Iraquis' was sheer genius. It reminded me of the book "Spiders of Allah". (suggested reading if you really want to despair over the fate of Iraq) All of the references to 60's hip counterculture was just insanely fun! (having lived through it) If you didn't like this film, well I guess you just had to "be there" to appreciate all of its whacked out humor.

I wonder if people do read how the rating works at this website. After watching the reviews of "New Moon" and the tons of "OMG! GO WATCH IT, GO TEAM JACOB" and giving the movie a 10/10, I dont know if those people realize a 10 is a "masterpiece, go see it now". I haven't seen masterpieces in a VERY long time, sadly. Now, regarding this movie, I gave it a 7, because I agree this was a "cute" movie. Perhaps if you are someone who wants straight comedy, well... this aint for you. It is definitely an absurd view of US army politics, and like in the beginning of the movie, its up to you to believe what you watch, right? Well, thats the point of the movie: its up to you to believe what you want to believe. Perhaps the Army is doing psychic research. :P I really enjoyed the LSD ending at the end, and Clooney made his character believable and serious about what he believed. Perhaps this is not THE BEST movie ever, but definitely something different from your regular comedy. I'd suggest if you like this movie, to watch "Goodbye Lenin".

A quiet, intelligent, timely comment on redemption and the resurrection of meaning. The world is mad, the pharisees run the temples, yet there is a secret to setting things right. A big explosion? A couple of outrageous one-liners? Nope. You'll just have to go and see the film to find out. Oh, and be prepared to do a bit of thinking, unless you've been trained otherwise...

The horror. The premise itself is interesting, but left me completely starved. I'm thinking, a movie with such a lame name must have balls, but the title just about sums up its comedic success. Pass on this one in theatre, DVD and TV. [...]

I really really enjoyed this movie. I am trying to understand what separates the people who liked it from the ones who didn't. I think you need to appreciate satire, enjoy quirky humour, and perhaps be a little politically left of centre.

Too many 'Jedi' references with Ewan's character. Okay, so he was in Star Wars, we get that. As for the story, it could have been a lot better. Jeff Bridges character was too whacked out to be beliveable.

This movie was the worst, it was very stupid. Please do not waste your time or money on this. I didn't want to see it cause I knew in my mind it would be bad, but I had picked the previous movie and my friend wanted to see this so I couldn't say no and seeing that I went with a friend I couldn't walk out off the movie.

I know this isn't the movie for everyone - at times my daughter and I were the only ones laughing - but we found it hilarious. It was good on many levels - the unfulfilled journalist finds guru, freeing the goats, etc. Ok - there are some slow moments, and you have to appreciate the silly parallels, etc. so if you like more straight forward laughs, this may not be your cup of tea.

Ok why does this clever and Entertaining film get such a low rating when complete Crapper films fare better?! Don't believe the garbage of those such as people who are in the military and people with I. Q.'s smaller than their shoe size. You WILL enjoy it if you do not fit in either category. Peace out!

It's very rare that the strength and the success of a film is carried entirely on the performances of the actors, however this was certainly one of those cases. Without the talents of a truly all-star cast to its credit, I highly doubt the movie would have been received even half as well. I don't think that is the fault of the director or the writer, but simply the nature of the true story that it was based upon. In order to enjoy this film, you definitely have to check all disbelief and cynicism at the door. If you do, you'll appreciate just how fantastic these actors are and maybe even laugh a little.

Good satire for those who lived through the Woodstock era. George Clooney does his comic serious take on himself, while the audience sees the reality - a classic clown.

This movie is about a lot more than goats and cheap laughs. It's a black comedy that is really asking the viewer to think beyond the obvious. Great acting by Clooney, Bridges and McGregor. If you are just looking for a mindless comedy think again- you need to work a bit harder to watch this one but it pays off. I didn't like Burn after Reading because it seemed pointless, without hope. This movie ends with a more positive message in my view.

I think this movies tries to be a black satire like DR Strangelove but comes up half short. Some subtle humor, some good laughs and a few walked out. Then again some were left scratching their heads. Not half bad.

It *wants* to be a Coen Brothers film. It *wants* to be a clever, acerbic, darkly sarcastic satire of the US armed forces and its sometimes very strange practices. I suspect I enjoyed it more than most reviewers because I am old enough to remember when the US actually DID try idiotic things like 'remote viewing' for target acquisition. There's more to this movie that is factual than the general film-goer probably realises. There were some laughs, and it was a bit of a trip down memory lane, but it would have been much better if it *had* been a Coen brothers production. I recommend it as a rental, to people over 40 who like satire.

I found this movie hilarious. The ending was histerical, and I loved the irony in a former star wars jedi playing the role of a reporter investigating the jedi.

It's hard to believe this all star cast would agree to be in this movie. I get that they enjoyed taking shots at the Army (which isnt hard to do) but with that said it was dull, boring and it is hard to feel anything for the charactors or to believe in anything they are doing or saying. What is with letting the goats go and the LSD trip? The point? And the reporter going through the wall? Some funny stuff but not nearly enough to carry this movie!

Kind of stupid. People have to be creative in order to make other people laugh. Clooney shouldn't step forward for this kind of thing. Maybe he is bankrupt as Nicolas Cage.

This movie, while could have been great, isn't. I think it is the directors fault. The comedy timing is off by a giant mile. Trailers showed the only really funny spots in the whole movie. It is a spoof on by-done days and only oldies will remember those times and maybe not even then.

This is an excellent movie, have an open mind when you watch this movie, its very entertaining. I would definitely watch it again. It shows spiritual aspects, being one with the earth, and also its very symbolic, along with comedy which made it a great movie.

The theatre of war is especially well-suited for the style of "black comedy", and the comic possibilties of a military unit made up of psychic soldiers are almost endless. However, even the excellent actors in this movie could not make the dismal screenplay funny. Also, the flashbacks and narration by Ewan McGregor only served to confuse things.
