Anyone interested in a bit of reality education along with the usual entertainment aspects of a well done documentary will be pleased with "THE COVE" (John Prine's song lyrics," some humans aren't human", come to mind.)

This is an excellent documentary about dolphins in "The Cove" near Taijii, Japan. It's quite disturbing to see thousands of those intelligent marine mammals being stupidly slaughtered and sold for consumption: a serious treat to human health. Having had once the opportunity to admire - and even swim -with dolphins in the coast of Mauritius Island (Ile Maurice), I can say that these animals have often friendly appearance. They seemingly have playful attitude that makes them popular in human culture. Please never eat dolphin flesh, it's dangerous for the health... This movie is a must-see for every human being...

This is a good documentary. I never heard of or was aware of dolphins being killed until I discovered this film. I am glad I took the time and opportunity to watch it. The film grab hold of my attention from the beginning. I recommend the film to anyone not just animal lovers. May the force be with you Ric.

Inspiring, tell your friends. I for one have swimmed with caged dolphins and now regret the experience. While, it is a cheerished memory as these creatures are just wonders. I cant help but feel guilty much like Ric Barry. What dedication. A moral, considerate and honorable man. He says it himself, in the dolphin trade he could have made millions. He gave it all up to do the right which is so rare these days in a dog eat dog world.

I saw this movie last night and I was very disturbed once again at how cruel certain human beings can be disregarding the anguish that these beautiful intelligent animals have to endure. Please see it and let's get our priorities in order people. Suffering of any kind for any living thing should be eliminated. In relation to food consumption, let's hope that methods used are humane.

I think that topics such as human rights, animal rights (the subject of this movie), environmental protection, poverty alleviation, justice and fairness - just to name a few - should increasingly be included in our daily thoughts, and that since an early age. There's so many things out there, so many lies that we could put an end to if just a fraction of us got engaged. This documentary was a good effort in that direction.

This is a thought provoking, meaningful movie. Hope it inspires change in the practice of capturing and killing dolphins by Japanese fishermen.

Although most people like to be lightly entertained, this movie exposes some of the ugly stories that take part in this world. Sometimes it is also important to watch these kinds of movies. Dolphins are extremely intelligent and they are innocent creatures. They deserve that we watch this movie for them, they deserve for more people to pay attention to how they can be treated- or mistreated all for human greed. Great movie.

Great movie, they went through great lengths to make this movie and although heartbreaking, everyone should go see it to have a clue what can be going on in some other parts of the world.

Thanks to AMC for offering us such a documentary. I had no idea such things went on on our planet. Kudos to those who made this heartbreaking documentary.

As others have stated in this forum, this movie is a "must see". Unfortunately, this will not happen, as the subject matter is too cerebral for the majority of the masses, who prefer the mindless entertainment that Hollywood (mostly) spews out. The message of the movie is simple: people are obtuse and obnoxious, and unless we change how we view the resources of our planet, we are doomed to extinction (which would probably be not such a bad thing)

I find this documentary as eye-opening as Sharkwaters was. I left the theatre horrified and thinking about what I could do to help. The Japanese government HAS to step in and stop the dolphin slaughter. The people in the film were brave to risk their lives in order to expose what goes on in Taiji. Shame on Japan.

All high school, college and university students MUST SEE this documentary! Instead of the 'hangovers', 'ugly truths' and other stuff that they are watching! I still can do something for our wounded world, but is upon them to change, and change fast if they want to see their grandchildren enjoying at least part of what is their right to enjoy. Congratulations and my deep admiration to Ric and to all the people that are activists in the real sense of the word.
