[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I was nine years old when I first watched halloween it was the first horror movie I ever seen it gave me nightmares for weeks but I'm older now and I love Michael myers hes my fav horror killer. I seen this probably a thousand times now and I just love it. Just imagine if your brother was like Michael myers you're alone at night and he comes and murders you it's a good plot then hes locked up for 15 years and goes for the other sister and he kills all your friends on the way and his doc shoots him six times and he just gets and walks away pretty freaky stuff.

The way a horror movie should be made. Not blood and gore like now-a-days but much more psychological. Scary as hell (I was young when I watched it the first time)

It was very twisted and messed up like when he killed the dog :( and since I just seen the new halloween a couple weeks ago I think that it was really good when you compare them but the old halloween was hard to understand cuz all he does is kill his sister and her boyfriend then turns into a physcho path you didn't get to see what happened to him and how he felt.

Classic horror flick, a must see for all horror fans everywhere. By choosing not to go with the standard slash-em-up gore fest style so popular with most horror films I think this movie wound up far more psychologicaly thrilling and suspensfully chilling than it would have been otherwise. Though it's a bit dated here or there (product of the 70's and you can tell) I highly recomend it, it's a must see, if for no other reason then to finally get all the references. Also, though it may not have been intentional at the time it's down right funny sometimes :)

This movie is a masterpiece, it is the perfect exemple for any horror movie director. The mask of Michael myers is scary as hell, and the music is FREAKING SCARY. What I loved the most about this flick is that it's a realistic horror movie with a story that makes sense. If you liked this movie, you will Love the second one.

I saw Halloween when it first appeared. I was 9 yrs old and out of my whole family, I was the only one who could watch it without hiding under the pillows or a blanket. I will never forget the eerie piano music when Michael Myers came around. I love it so much that I downloaded it on my cell phone. Now when I get a call, it's just like Michael Myers is comming! The reason it is so good, is that it didn't use special effects to the point of OVER KILL! The suspense was good enuff. If you don't believe in the BOOGIE MAN... you need to watch Halloween! You will be looking out your windows at night, and hearing "noises" upstairs when you're downstairs. I guarantee you.

Carpenter's "Halloween" differs from its "Texas Chainsaw" predecessor in being supernatural. Michael Myers has not a single human psychological trait. Leatherface, on the other hand represents the corruption of a decaying family business into cannibalism. In other words, Michael, like his counterpart the archangel, victimizes the young people of a doomed materialist society, middle class suburban life without a conceivable future. The element of last judgement appears, combined with the folklore punisher of youthful misconduct, the bogeyman. Only his saintly sister, Laurie, can possibly alter destiny.

Halloween is a very scary thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The movie is just the right amount of time it isn't long but long enough that you don't get sick of it, as soon as you see the first one you get hooked on the whole series. Before I knew it I had watched the whole series within 4 months. Myers is the perfect killer he never talks which gives him a creepy evil look and appearance.

Perhaps it is the best movie to come into existence. I own several various types of Michael Myers memorobilia, including masks, figurines, dolls, movies, aned so on. In my opinion, the best movie ever written.

I think Halloween was the best film John Carpenter made and I thank him for that. I also think the film is still better with Dr. Loomis because he brings life into the film. I give him my respect. I think Halloween is the best horror movie next to nightnare on elm street and friday the 13th. I hope in part 8, they have a better story line than in H20.

NO special fx, no trickery. "Halloween" started it all. The haunting piano music and the infamous non-diegetic "Jay-jay- jay-ahh- ahh-ahhh sounds, " push "Halloween" to the ultimate limit of slasher films. Carpenter revels in the intense emotion of being watched. If you think you're being watched and/or stalked... Maybe you are... Maybe Halloween isn't the best day to go out trick or treating, maybe staying home isn't the best idea either... You never know who's gonna come to your door! Carpenter shows how a disfunctional family can turn horrific. The moral of the story is the system can't hold the crazies, being beautiful in a small town is dangerous, and DON'T trust anyone wearing a hockey mask and brandishing a sharp object.
