Terrible movie. No point. I love Owen Wilson but I did not enjoy him in this movie at all. Emotionless. Steer clear!

I absolutely loved it. It was much different then other movies with not much point at all, just living life. It was great and I highly recommend. Trust me, you just want to travel around India after.

I thought the cinematography was amazing as was the scenery, the story about privileged brothers trying to connect and grieve... not so great. I LOVED the Life Aquatic, and I would recommend seeing this movie, It really makes me want to travel through India by train.

Wes Anderson is a genius. It is a beautifully written story, with amazing cinematography and somewhat dry humor. If you liked Royal Tenenbaums, you will love this one!

Visually, a beautiful film, a joy to watch. Characters are hilarious. I would highly recommend.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I fell asleep. Why would anyone care about these characters? It felt stilted, contrived, and unscripted. What was that whole scene about the death of the children the water all about? Then the characters wait for a bus , only to get off and attend the funeral and then repeat the scene again. Everything seemed like an add on to pad a 2 hour movie. The 3 stooges did it better. The more I see of wooden Owen Wildon, the less I enjoy his acting abilities. The 3 actors amongst themselves showed a range of emotions from placid to bored, and that's how I felt except for the brief glimpses of a beautiful and mysterious India. The train architecture and crafted shots of it held my attention.

I think anyone having a difficult time fully growing up and being able to confront what exactly that term means should see this film. Wes Anderson, like Dave Eggers in literature, speaks to a very specific generation. You know you'll like this film if you vampire bite people on Facebook or still think 'what'chu talkin' 'bout Willis' is hip.

I feel that Wes Anderson has completely made up for The Life Aquatic (a good film, but not a great one) with this film. This tale of three brothers attempting to rebuild their relationship and come to terms with the death of their father is overwhelmingly beautiful and poetic.

Combining Wes Anderson's flair for awesome comedy and incredible visuals, this movie will definitely delight any fan of one of my favourite director/writers. I found enough laughs in this movie to enjoy it but I had the same problem I had with Life Aquatic: I don't think Anderson's last two works have had the charm that both Rushmore and Tenenbaums has had. Yes, they're funny movies and work as comedies but unfortunately they don't work on the same level that those first two movies of his did. Even Bottle Rocket had a ton more charm. I think I much preferred it to Life Aquatic though.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] Generally I'm a fan of Wes Anderson and I think he is a genius. However, I find his strongest films were those that involved Owen Wilson as a writing partner (Rushmore, The Royal Tenebaums) Without Wilson to bring a bit of a warm, realistic and lighter side, Anderson's films seem too absurd and dark at points. That said, I still enjoyed his latest piece. Newcomer to the director's films, Adrien Brody brings a strong performance to compliment Anderson veterans Owen Wilson and Jason Schwartzman. Nathalie Portman also shines in the short film preceding the feature. I felt the train in the film was symbolic of the movie itself as it chugged along. When the brothers are ejected from the train for bringing a poisonous snake on board, I felt the film also lost a sense of itself and drifted as the characters did. Less diehard fans of Anderson will still enjoy it but I wouldn't recommend it to people who didn't enjoy his previous work.

A real joy to watch. Go with an open mind, sit back and enjoy. Strangely entertaining and kind of motivating. I loved the long running camera shots, without cutting.

10/10? Are you joking? I am a Wes Anderson fan and this movie was garbage. It is absolutely beautiful, but the story is awful. The characters are shallow and underdeveloped and there simply isn't any point at all. This was one of the most disappointing movies I have ever seen.

Here's the deal. If you like Wes Anderson movies like the Royal Tanenbaums, and Rushmore, you'll love this movie. If you don't know what those movies are, you may want to avoid it. It's not Zoolander, it's a movie watchers movie.

I JUST LOVED THIS MOVIE!! The colours and culture of India were so beautiful and I liked the way that it was hard to grasp. It was different- but in the best way. Made you think!

This sucks so much - save your money, I wish I could give it a zero - but I had to give it a 1.

I spent most of the movie trying to find out some hidden ulterior motive. With such big name actors I kept thinking... why are these people doing this movie? It was so disjointed, minimal connection between flashbacks and every time you felt that a thread of reason was starting to form, sure enough it got dashed yet again. The only interesting thing was the scenery and culture of India which was manifest however I could have had a better trip through India reading a National Geographic. Don't waste your money going to see this... rent it only if you have rented every other movie you would like to see!!

I can't understand all the 5's this movie got. It's a Wes Anderson film, what do they mean it doesn't 'go anywhere'? Silly people. It's funny, there are details you may not catch when you expect 'action' or laugh out loud comedy. It's the quirks that make it good, and the details that make it count. Good movie, go see it. Enjoy.

Ridiculously cute. Funny. Quirky without being aggravating. The short that precedes the film is also very good.

Wes Anderson's best yet. Gorgeously filmed, beautiful story that is sensitive and so human and funny.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.] I was having a pretty good time just digging the scenes and the actors until the river incident and the drowning of the young boy. That's where this movie changes from a bit of fluff to a great flick. Wes Anderson deals with the death of a young boy with such respect, I cna't help but think it may have actually happened to him. The rest of the movie seems dedicated to those that are left. Very well done!

I truly expected more from this movie. There were some parts that I laughed out loud, but during others I felt the movie wouldn't end. I checked my watch every couple of minutes and was relieved when it was finally over. This movie is more like a rental so you can forward through the boring bits.

If you are familiar with India, you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. It is true to the country, and the movie itself was very witty. Definitely worth seeing.

Wes Anderson's unique vision is delightfully on display in The Darjeeling Limited, an exotic road movie about three brothers coming to terms with their traumatic childhoods and trying to heal their damaged psyches. In keeping with the Freudian theme, the film is rich in symbolism and has a dreamlike feel to it. It's also a lot of fun: whimsical, carefully stylized, with a dry humour running through it, including an elaborate and hilarious in-joke at the beginning. There are numerous unexpected plot turns along the way. Visually stunning, Darjeeling creates a hypnotic sensation with its bold, bright colours and romanticized portrayal of India. The precisely-selected soundtrack provides an illuminating reflection of the characters and the events that are taking place. The three leads do an excellent job at conveying the inner turmoil and unresolved issues of their characters.
