Do you like parodies? Do U like 'dark humor'? Do U like movies? Throw in a dash of War and you get a film like 'Inglorious Basterds'. Like any great recipe the chef makes all the difference to the results and this 'stew' is no different. Quentin's fictitious WW2 story takes place in France. A la France, la couture, les jolies femmes et la cuisine. The blend of humor, pain, irony, seriousness and buffoonery is just right. This may be, arguably, 'the Man's' masterpiece. It's subtle, strong and gentle. Most of that due to the impressive ensemble cast. I personally didn't know some of those actors spoke German so fluently. Just marvelous stuff. Especially since most critics were panning the film before it had its run in the theatres. If you're up for two and a half hours of laughter, tears, hope and fears this is a damn good choice. Many of the ladies in attendance enjoyed it. A warning to the squeamish. There's no shortage of graphic 'slaughter' since this is a War movie. Be prepared. 8 out of 10 for audacity, boldness and spunk. Thank you, Quentin! All of your fans thank you and some 'new' fans thank you as well. See ya at the Front of the line. Cheers.
