The reviews on this movie were pretty sketchy when it made its début, but after seeing it, and seeing it, and seeing it again, I can tell you that Divine Secrets is a movie every woman should see! I found it funny and heart warming and loved the lack of perfection in this family, because lets face it, life's not perfect!

Interesting story, but I guess the surprises weren't surprising enough, characters were too real (and therefore flawed) to really take into my heart. A good movie, but not one I took any life lessons from.

This is a great movie and I am a man. The story of the friendship and the love they had for each other touched me and family coming back together. I laughed alot during this movie but my wife had to share the kleenex box because I was crying just as hard as she was in the end. Great movie watch it.

My boyfriend was out of town and I was in the mood for a chick flick, so I picked this up. Yawn! It was silly, predictable and superficial. Normally, I can tolerate these qualities in a CF, as long as it makes up for it in humour and/or steamy romance, both of which were sadly lacking from this film. Maggie Smith should have known enough to stay away from this stinker!

Okay I for one am not a gurly gurly movie chick, but I have to say this movie was totally the best! It was kinda chickflick (for the older crowd) but it had humor and a message that even my dense head got. In simple words it's one of those movies you either like or you hate. So go see it for urself and decide.

So all us girls got together, went to this supposedly great movie and left asking ourselves "what kind of girly girl crappy movie was that" DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE... Oh and Oprah... just a suggestion, next time you decide to hype up a movie by interviewing all the great stars, make sure you choose something a little less cheesy... YA-YA!!!

This was an absolutely delightful movie. I would definitely recommend it for Moms and teenage/adult daughters to attend together! A definite "chick-flick".

A great film to see with your girlfriends, sisters, mothers, aunts, grandmothers, cousins, and even boyfriends, husbands, and brothers! Many, many funny scenes and these top notch actresses make it very worthwhile! Ellen Burnstyn, Maggie Smith are hillarious! On a more serious note, the story tells of life's tragedies that we sometimes come to face later in life... but in the end, we hope that everything falls into place. Bravo!

Although this is a film mainly about women I did not feel it was just for women. It, to me was about relationships and how complex they are and can be. Mostly it was about how you have to know what someone else is going through or has gone through to understand them and in many cases, forgive them. Stellar cast, wow, all that talent fills up the screen and leaks over. I do declare, I laughed, I cried and smiled then went home and talked to my dear Momma.

Enchanting and powerful, a must-see movie. Some gripping scenes that will make you want to scream, laugh and cry along with the actors themselves. Maggie Smith is the perfect scene stealer. A great movie for a mother-daughter bonding session. Felt out of place due to the fact that I was one of a small handful of men. Well Done!!!

A great movie to see with sisters or girlfriends, certainly not a "guy" movie. Maggie Smith was by far the most entertaining. I have recommended it many times.

EXCELLENT!!! Best movie I've seen in a long time! I laughed and cried from start to finish. Women of all ages will be affected by at least one aspect of the movie. It's a must see. I'd definitely see it again and again and again...

This movie was really, really, really good!!! I went to see it with my mom and I must say that she was the perfect person to see it with! This is trully a demonstration of mother daughter relationships!!! The way the story unfolded was original and kept you interested!! Of course, Sandra made me cry (she always does!!!) She is trully a wonderful actress and I was really pleased by her performance!!! To have my mom on my side during this movie was probably the best feeling in the world, because all of a sudden, I trully realised at what point she is so special to me!! It is trully a must see for mothers, daughters, and the hole gang!!!

This was a good movie.. for woman... let's just say that there was 1 man in the theatre. It's a movie to see with your girlfriends. I thought Sandra Bullock, as usual, performed greatly. Anyway, GO SEE IT! The only thing I was unpleased about was the location, the movie didn't play everywhere, I had to drive 20 minutes to get to the theatre. But I guess it's not the movies fault, it's the movie guys fault. GO SEE IT!

After a long wait, finally we have a ladies version of the ever popular boys flick "stand by me". Don't pass this up on the big screen... it's best enjoyed surrounded in estrogen.

Please, somebody stop Sandra Bullock from making movies, she is quite possibly the worst actress there is. I was apalled that so much of the Earth's resources were used to make this abomination that I think everyone involved should be forced to do community service and banned from film making for at least 6 months (Sandra Bullock should be banned indefinitely)

Excellent adaptation of the book. The Ya-Yas are just incredible, totally nutty but totally devoted to one another. A must see movie for mother and daughter.

Definitely a girly movie. 95% women in the theatre. I found the movie entertaining. Usually most girly movies are tear jerkers and I was glad this was not but emotional none the less. My sister enjoyed. I loved the location. I happen to be going to New Orleans. Definitely picking up the soundtrack.

I am dissapointed in this movie. I figured, such an ensemble cast, this movie has great potential! Alas, I was wrong! This movie has its moments, but they are to few to make this movie worth watching at the movies. The story never really takes off, and the mother/daughter relationship that could of been explored with brilliant intensity leaves to be desired. My advice, wait until it comes out on video (it won't be long...) and even then, watch it if it's a rainy day, and you have nothing better to do!

A ridiculous movie. Why do top flight actresses alow themselves to be conned into making such rubbish? Why do top flight male actors allow themselves to stand around looking like well mannered pets waiting for a pat on the head?

I'm sorry to say, but this is just a waist of time... I have to admit that the acting is not that bad at all, especially Ash Judd, but the movie, the story, the production is just sad I woundn't even recommend it if you can get for a buck at Blockbuster's later on...

A movie about life. About what a mother should not be. Bullock is rising in my eyes, Judd reveals her bitchy personality (is she really a bitch in life?.)

I cried beginning two minutes into the movie until about three hours after. The best movie of the year... it was probably the best performance that I've seen of some of these actors, including Ashley Judd and Ellen Burstyn. James Garner held his own as well.

I'm actually dissapointed I thought it would be much better. It was definitely toooo long and toooo slow. And I really don't know why there is so much fuss going on about Ashley Judd's performance... It was NOT an Oscar performance, that's for sure!

Really good movie. This movie is more for couples then for a bachelor or single person. I went to the première last night and tought that the movie had a great story about sticking up for your friends and always face your problems.
