I think this movie is for sure a must see. Da Best movie in da house base no very true. When I was watching this film I cried in theatre. I will thanks to Ammtoje Mann that he show the recent history of Punjab. Go see it now if you havent seen it already and if you did, go see it again again. You will see the punjab in 1984. Great productin. Excellent and I'll probably watch it again in the future. Well done Ammtoje Mann.

I saw it on the 17th of August. Probably the best hindi film I have ever seen. It was really emotional and I was really grateful for the fact that it wasn't the usual (and incredibly boring) hindi song and dance film filled with nonsense. Instead, it talked about an incredibly real and important topic, and shed much light on the issue. I am really thankful to Ammtoje Maan for making a film like this, it really made me sit down and think for a long while after I had finished watching it. He should be commended for making such an honest film, but I'm sure in corruption-riddled India, the government and other dirty organizations will do their best to smother it.

This movie is the first movie of its kind which dipicts the reality of 1984. I think, Ammtoje Mann has showed very well what was actually happened. And didnt even attempt to hide the reality, even though "Hawayein" is the result of a small mistake by our own people. I dont know what else to say about "Hawayein" but it has refreshen the forgotton memories of that bad time. I think everyone should watch this movie to know wat was happened in reality and dont just make wrong asssumptions.

This movie, in my opinion, was a classic tell all tale of the 1984 aftermath of operation blue star. It carefully and professionally depicts the lives of people that were tormented during such times. I am definitely going to see this film a second time. As for anyone who has not yet seen this film, I do highly recommend this as a must see film. Watching this film made me see more than what meets the eye. I could go on for a long time, but the point is, this film is a masterpiece. My hats off to the actors of this film and the director, Ammtoje Mann. Well done.

[ATTENTION: This review reveals content of the movie.]
I saw this movie at cineplex with my girlfriend and I must admit it was first time a tear trickled down my cheek after watching a movie. I new about what happened in 1984 during the riots but wasnt aware of the impact it had on people lives and also the extent at which it happened this film left me absoloutley flabbergasted, gobsmacked, I was literally amazed, the transformation of sarabjit (the protagonist of the movie), from being a simple music loving student to becoming a terrorist is portrayed perfectly to a T. Also an effective scene is his transformation into a sikh, when he grows a beard and wears a turban, this film is so powerful due to scenes like this, so powerful that it had the power to make me feel ashamed of myself. I am a hindu you see, and my family is from dehli, I remember a few years back my uncle going on about the riots in dehli and feeling proud of what happened, feeling proud that may hindus had killed many sikhs, I guessed I felt proud then too, what the hell I was only 10, but I must admit after watching this movie I am ashamed of what happened and hope there can forever be peace in our beloved india, between sikhs and hindus and even muslims. Thank you, RAJ.
