The Control Room offers an insightful and informed look at Al-Jazeera, the television network that broadcasts to 40 million Arab viewers. Director Noujaim's Arab/American heritage allowed for a prolonged investigation into the network that many Arabs criticize as supporting democratic regimes, while duh Bush cartel describes it as "the mouthpiece of Osama bin Laden". Without pre-empting too much of what is contained in The Control Room, you might be interested in the news that "the other half" sees. It makes for an enlightening alternative.
