I was really disappointed with this movie. I was really hoping for more. I love Robin Williams, so I was in denial, saying, just watch it again, and you'll love it. I tried to watch it again, and I just couldn't sit through it. It's a good idea, but I really think that they could have done 70% better. And when Laura spazzes, I had to look away.

The movie looked funny at the beginning but turned into a drama and to the worst. It looked like they added a different story to the movie. Thumbs way down.

If you understand this movie the way I did, I think you will love it. I saw a message here, for all of us, and I saw it through great actors who delivered it in an intelligent and most entertaining way.

The original concept is funny. But nothing much else is going to make you laugh. The movie takes on way too much and the writers are in over their head. Taking on too much, it delivers on none - the comedian president, the love story, the ill friend, the evil faceless corporation, the innocent accused on the run to find the proof, etc. Etc. Barry Levinson is on a free fall, and if he continues this way it is too bad he has this much clout from his stuff from last millennia.

Hillarious movie, it takes Robin into his serious role, but thank god he's aloud to do what he does best, make people laugh. Robin Williams fan's, must see.

Man of the Year is a rather slight film that doesnt really work all that well. The story is weak and unbelievable. To buy into this picture one has to accept that the average late night cable talk show host with a staff of six helpers and a rented travel bus could become a credible US Presidential candidate. Thats the basic plot and even the least cynical among us would find this hard to accept, and well isnt US politics and politicians a rather easy target for Hollywood to criticize and make fun of? Robin Williams does a reasonable job and the best scenes are when he gets to stand up before an audience and do his thing. Overall the film is forgettable and is at best a rental for Robin Williams fans.

If you like Robin Williams when he's not manic, you will enjoy this movie. Excellent supporting cast. Laura Linney is charmingly awkward, and Christopher Walken is sooo good, even when he is not being evil/psycho. I loved Lewis Black, he cracked me up. Very nice little film.

I love Robin Williams but this film is pretty terrible. Sorry to all involved but it is very very boring and the talented actors involved are wasted on such a dull script. It is a drama, the only funny scene in it is the one you see in the trailer for the movie. Borat is way better.

There were a few funny punchlines delivered by Robin Williams, but this movie was trying to be clever, but was completely boring. Lame attempts at suspense. I miss my $0.75 coupon...

Terrible, terrible movie that a. Justified it's terrible jokes by making the characters laugh at them b. Could not decide if it was a comedy, romantic, thriller, or drama. Just awful. I would not recommend it to anyone, and I have been banned from choosing movies because of it.

The movie does have some funny jokes, but I found it moved to fast in the beginning and too slow in the end. Some things seemed corny and Laura Linney was appalling.

The trailers really leave out that this movie actually has plot, even suspense! I thought it was just a Williams wacky comedy, but his humour just filled in all the spaces between this not-a-bad movie. Maybe not a must see... but some parts killed me... too funny. I was actually on edge too! Interesting concept... mr. Stewart... do take a stand. Intriguing idea having a comedian being president. I liked it.

Good movie, but the final lines of the movie are in the ads for the movie (about politicians needing to be changed often, like diapers)- bit silly, to have given away the last lines...

I don't understand some critics who say it was not as funny as the previous Robin Williams movies since many of the jokes were taken straight out of his stand-up acts. Besides the comedy, the movie vehicles a beautiful message of how important self morals are. RW plays a character with strong believes in his own version of "right and wrong" and a good sense of humour. It was not the funniest movie I had ever seen, nor was it the most suspensful. But it does tackle many issues of today's world with a sense of sarcasm, and it presents how refreshing it could be to vote for a different party than Red or Blue. This goes for both Canada and USA.

Robin Williams has been much funnier in almost any other movie he has done. The plot and the character doesn't allow Williams to use his talent at all. Supporting actors were mediocre at best.

If you like Robin Williams, see this movie as it is typical RW. Ok, so some of it you know what is coming next, but RW and supporting cast do an excellent job of making it work never the less.

Not bad. I expect more from Robin. As per usual, he plays his part well but he wasn't used to the best of his ability.

It seems that Robin Williams gets better and better, everyone thinks of him as a pure comic, but I believe that hes become a complete actor. The movie is a dont miss, good story and great human emotions.

Do NOT expect a comedy here but more of a punch line drama with comedic under currents. Misleading advertising here considering the serious nature of the movie.

This movie shows how America thinks that "they got it all right": political, economical, socially, culturally, etc. Error! There's always a defect about the system... The story turns around a political issue (the way people vote)and try to improve the electoral vote. Problems and a series of misunderstandings are waiting in line but the peak of this movie is dedicated to Robin Williams in a terrific role made for him. Who are we to judge people, are better than them? The script is well written and I enjoyed all the insides jokes about the industry of entertainmement and politics. Good work Barry Levinson!
